Re: Arena NPE "Starter" Decks, Modifications and Other Budget Deck to Grind With
With the release of Theros Beyond Death, I have been drafting and playing sealed. Having achieved effective rare completion of the new set, my attention turns to constructed. For two accounts, I just look to work them to Gold. Hence I fell back to an old budget standby to see if it could still work ...

Re: Meta Information
My lack of contributions does not reflect the rich and evolving Standard metagame. Out of Worlds 2020, it looked to some like a solved metagame of Mono-R, Temur Reclamation, Azorius Control and Jeskai Fires. But not to Aaron Gertler. After taking it to the top of the Arena ladder, he brought Temur C...

Re: Standard Meta Discussion
There is no denying the history, but Standard is fantastic right now. There are a variety of competitive decks along with many somewhat competitive decks and an evolving competitive meta. A local store in my area has even revived Standard and we've fired it twice. The interesting question is about t...

Re: Mono-Red Aggro
Apparently, Mono-R is good. Nick Prince here and Aaron Barich (on HardcastMTG) seem to agree that it has a sneaky combo-ish strength. I played the Mengucci-Manfield version in the Arena event and it was fine. It didn't seem fantastic, though. I mean, you can't complain about tier 1, right? Seth Manf...

Nick Prince surveys the Standard field on Tcgplayer. Not much evaluation, but a wide overview. Seth Manfield focuses on three Standard decks, also at Tcgplayer (Caveat: a week old, but maybe some still useful ideas).

Re: Standard Meta Discussion
I've seen people come in to play Standard events because of Arena, but I can't tell how many are not coming because of Arena, so I can't say the net effect. The effect I am sure of is the effect of bad Standard. Aetherworks Marvel, Cat Combo definitely caused people to lose interest. Oko was the sam...

THB Preview Some Normal Art Rares Filter Strangely
Apologies in advance if this is just me being ignorant. I went to Full Previews off the front page then I deselected everything but the rares. Then I got a listing with the regular art followed by the cards not openable in normal packs, then the alternate arts. In the normal art section I didn't fin...
