Re: [SCD] Koma, Cosmos Serpent

Token doublers + Opposition had been a routine end result of playing a Koma deck, which can be very frustrating to the table.

Re: SCD: Rhystic Study

If RS works like Mind's Eye where you too have to pay 1 or 2 extra to draw in addition to taxing opponents, it'd would been a lot more balanced. Ban RS and create a new version should be considered.

NOOOO Kirri, Talented Sprout why aren't you Golgari
I always thought Yuma is better with black (therefore Jund), since a major aspect of the color is self-actualization, and Yuma's background is pretty much it. Kirri as black would make him so much more interesting.

Re: [SCD] Pip-Boy 3000

If we look at individual triggers, there are better substitutes, but Pip-Boy let you choose the best of three for current situation, such versatility allows it to go into many deck types.

Re: Loot's Destiny (Brewing)

That reminded me, Thopter Spy Network and Saheeli, the Gifted are both in a way three types in one card. Servo Schematic literally adds two types right before Loot comes out. Given artifact creatures' colorless nature and abundance in token form, they appear to be the easiest path to go. That said, ...

Loot's Destiny (Brewing)

So with Loot, the Key to Everything , you'd probably get 2~3 extra cards a turn without trying, consider almost every deck uses mana rock and creatures, even spellslingers. Cards like Paradox Haze and Sphinx of the Second Sun would buff that # even further.. And like Grogu of Star Wars, Loot's desti...

All three value small and quick spells in rapid successio...

Re: Unreleased and New Card Discussion

I...don't like Spree at all. Here's a card that doesn't actually do anything for its cost--you have to pay the additional costs. It's like kicker, or multi-kicker, except the base card doesn't do anything. It just seems...unintuitive. Mayhap, but it looks like they're all 1cc to begin with, which m...

Re: Unreleased and New Card Discussion

Pardon an ignorant blue mage, but if you don't like the fact that Boros legends do Boros things, why do you want to play Boros? What is Boros, though? Or to be exact, what is W/R? The fact that we keep calling the W/R combination "Boros" already molded us into seeing the color pair as not...

As long as WotC doesn't call it a "documentary".

Re: Unreleased and New Card Discussion

In case anyone missed it, Mariposa Military Base is a strictly-better Arch of Orazca . So Phelddagrif getting more UB cards. I guess I'm happy. Yay. You'd need a steady supply of Rad counters though. You lose a counter (and 1 life) each time you mill a nonland card via Rad. A win for those who bene...

Struggle for Project Purity looks wild if you choose "Brotherhood" - which you propably should. Yeah that card is pretty gnarly. Honestly wtf is the point of the other mode lol, why would anyone choose that? I guess if someone else has gone mega-wide and you're holding a fog? Maybe in 1v1...

I used to pick up one box per set and all the precons, now I cannot keep up with all the new cards so I buy a box selectively, and pick up some or no precons.

Re: Was WotC's embrace of Commander a good thing?

And from the player side, it's why the format has lost a lot of its identity - new players without the experience of standard play commander because it's the primary magic format, but they don't have a reason to care about the nuance of moderating power levels to create more enjoyable games. Plus p...

Re: Was WotC's embrace of Commander a good thing?

All things in moderation. Part of the fun of creating EDH decks in the past is using cards (including legendary creatures) that's clearly designed for 60 cards and make it work in a 100 singleton. WotC's heavy catering of EDH format in recent years added quite a number of good things, such has Monar...

I'm incorporating the Boros goad deck into my Marchesa deck. A lot of great cards that'd add to the political feud.

Unexplained absence and any cards that creature creatures for opponents will further douse oil on fire.

Re: Assassin or Horror?

The ability to steal cards without going to combat is VERY relevant, as a gummed up board making attacks difficult is somewhat common in EDH. That is true... and I hesitate to think about using Training Grounds for Etrata just to reduce flip costs. Though, while N'gthathrod can hit or miss on the s...

Assassin or Horror?

Namely, Etrata, Deadly Fugitive or Captain N'ghathrod . Etrata: 1) Potentially create multiple colorless creatures per turn, from different players. 2) Can turn ANY of your face-down morph creature face-up for a flat cost, even if she didn't create it. 3) Can turn non-creature morphs face-up to &quo...
