Re: Poison Counters
Ten poison is fine, given that the whole table would likely gang up on you after seeing a single drop of it. Besides, if blue/combo players can play cards like Mana Crypt with little to no hindrance, thanks to 40 starting life, might as well give aggro decks something to counteract all that brokenne...

Re: Unreleased and New Card Discussion
I was hoping to see some controlling aspect in oil counters, since the oil is literally Phyrexia nanomites that corrupts, perhaps permanents with oil counter on it cannot be controlled by non-owners. Or, it'd function like devotion since, well, the oil is literally devotion to Phyrexia, except here ...

By the cards shown so far, I can't find a use for most oil cards, even in a proliferate deck.

Re: Is White getting better?
Looks like white in this set is getting more draws base on creature/attack/token, all relevant to the color. Norn's Decree even has a political side to it.

Re: Unreleased and New Card Discussion
There are some pretty powerful cards in the leak. Amongst legends, I like the precon lead Ixhel, Descendent of Atraxa the best, being poisonous but encourages you to poison as many people as possible instead of ending one player quickly, while capable of ending the game when it comes to 1v1.

Witherbloom Strategy
Thinking about making a Witherbloom deck (i.e. life and token related), and will likely include all the relatable legends. The question though: Who should lead the team? Classic Dina, Soul Steeper Beledros Witherbloom Gyome, Master Chef Willowdusk, Essence Seer Blex, Vexing Pest // Search for Blex V...

Re: Jumpstart for Commander Partners
I've been considering an idea like this for a while. My thought was that each "pack" would be a Commander + 19 other cards, and you'd pick two plus a 20-card colorless "Core" and shuffle them together into a 60 card deck. The core would be mostly color fixing, ramp, and utility,...

Re: Jumpstart for Commander Partners
Would you only have the mono-colored partners? If the idea is to get people to start playing EDH, like Jump Start with 40 card decks, then it's probably the most feasible approach, just make sure that each booster has completely different cards, and has one colorless boosters as "box toper&quo...

Re: Jumpstart for Commander Partners
I guess one problem is that commander is a singleton format, and if you happened to pick two commanders sharing colors, they may end up with duplicates. For example, two green commanders might both have Kodama's Reach . One way to resolve this, of course, is the let different packs have different ra...

Jumpstart for Commander Partners
Someone else might've brought up this idea before: What if we have a commander product that's like Jumpstart, every pack has a partner commander, and each "pack" has 50 cards. Players buy two packs and combine them into a partner-commander deck ready to go. Power level aside, I think it'd ...

Re: White Speculation Play
I wonder if MLD in style of Urza's Sylex would show up more in the future, ones that punish over-ramper while sparing the rest of the table. I wouldn't mind seeing a spell version that would, say, makes the player with highest land-count sacrifice down to three lands if it's it's cast within first t...

Re: [SCD] Disciple of Caelus Nin
Now it works amazing with Parallax Wave as I can phase out all my planewalkers and then just before my turn I can exile the Disciple of Caelus Nin so that my permanents can phase back in. Then I can reset the Parallax Wave with Aminatou [-1] and then do the Disciple of Caelus Nin phase out all over...

I'm glad they put some pseudo MLD in this set, either destroy only to certain # or uses phasing. This is wonderful.

Ashnod the Uncaring is yet another Time Sieve abuse.
Tawnos, Solemn Survivor is like Osgir, the Reconstructor, except he creates only one copy but could also hit nonartifact creatures.

Re: Combat-Sling
I've got a Shu Yun deck and while it does decent, it always feels like killing one player is easy and then you have to refuel. I could go more heavy on equipment but that kind of defeats the point of trying him as a voltron spell slinging commander in my opinion. I've had far more success with equi...

Re: Unreleased and New Card Discussion
Mandate of Abaddon is actually really interesting. I may pick up a copy if it shows up on the secondary market. I have 2 black decks, Greven, Predator Captain and Grimgrin, Corpse-Born . Both lean towards being battlecruisers; knocking out the small stuff in the way is super helpful. Reminds me of ...

Combat-Sling
How do people feel about combat-sling decks i.e. spell sling that could profit from combat?
For examples, Abaddon the Despoiler, Tetsuo, Imperial Champion, Shu Yun, the Silent Tempest, Magar of the Magic Strings, etc.

Re: Predictions galore
Dual lands aren't hurting the format in any significant way anyway. They're nice to have, but the strength of a deck never turns on having dual lands. Yes, except people repeatedly asking for dual lands to be reprinted, as if they couldn't survive on other very viable options. The same could be sai...

Re: Predictions galore
Wouldn't mind they ban Mana Crypt and Jeweled Lotus. If they also ban classic dual lands, that'd quell a lot of noises too.
