It usually ends up in tragedy, as most Rakdos numbers do." ...

Re: The MCC Discussion Thread

...but users who played one month can judge the next month. And vice versa. The organizers and players of every contest are always drawn from the same pool of users, and there's a chronic problem - less so lately, thankfully - of finding judges before the first round deadline, so can you articulate...

Re: The MCC Discussion Thread

so I'm hard pressed to see the problem This is what I agree with. There is no problem with the MCC as it is . We can talk about the rubric, only talk at this stage, but everything that goes against the established structure of the MCC, like inviting players to judge the next month, will never have ...

Re: The MCC Discussion Thread

I was talking in general seeing the discussion going on here. The MCC is made like that and you can't have players judging. Honestly I'm worried by what you want to do next month. You know me, and you know me well, so it shouldn't surprise you.

Re: The MCC Discussion Thread

Players and judges are well defined roles and completely separated. Players can't judge. That's the CCL.

I'm also repeatedly facepalming for having missed the reminder text. Devotion was a later addition on my card, that's why I missed it.

Re: The MCC Discussion Thread

It looks to me you're all missing my point on Ryder's Main Challenge score. He did meet the challenge (if he didn't this would be a full zero here and thus a DQ), but his card is castable without black mana at all. That's the point. I can just use UR. And I have cast the card, that's black (reason n...

Re: The MCC Discussion Thread

@bravelion83 Is using another mechanic from Ikoria indirectly okay? In my case I'm indirectly using Mutate as it's an alternative casting cost. Mutate is already an alternative casting cost, you aren't doing anything differently that usual. What do you mean exactly with the word "indirectly"? I und...

Re: The MCC Discussion Thread

It was always going to be this way, the challenge had been planned before I knew who the players were, actually before the beginning of the month, you just didn't know it. The whole strutcure of the month was based on the sentence "Design your companion", that was the very first thing I wrote for Ju...

Re: The MCC Discussion Thread

My judgments are in. Look at the end of the post. I'm sorry Ryder, but the Main Challenge section was the main reason to change the previous rubric, that had no such section. Multiple situations have arised where having that section solved the problem, by giving the judge more nuance. I myself as a...

In fact I got it wrong. My bad. And we still miss a player. Ok, Leo. Everything's fine. Do our submissions need to specifically use cycling, or would typecycling qualify? Re: The MCC Discussion Thread

I would actually say that there is a "best option," but it's a goal that's moving about. Even if you pinpoint it in one situation, it will be different in the next situation. The thing about differences in opinion is that they provide more of a "cloud" of viewpoints. If only one viewpoint prevails,...
