Re: Karador, Ghost Chieftain - Quest for Control
Thans for the suggestions! I think I will add False Prophet with extra sac outlets. That card will do alot of work. Magister of Worth is a bit of a gamble. I will skip on that one. Cataclysmic Gearhul will do lotus of work in controller the board. I play alot spot removal, annoying will be removed a...

Re: Karador, Ghost Chieftain - Quest for Control
What are some good sweepers on a stick in Karador, Ghost Chieftain ? I'm trying crypt rats but it is too mana intensive. I read in the posts on this thread about False Prophet , but i have the feeling you need an extra loophole (sacrifce or something) to use it, though the results are good. What are...

Re: The Varinaristocrats!
I like the concept of the deck with putting first a lot of little dudes on the field and then playing Varina. But if you want to play full aristocrats I would add a couple of more life drainers. Maybe swap some things out for: - Blood Artist - Zulaport Cutthroat - Cruel Celebrant - Bastion of Rememb...

Re: Mono U artifacts
I also have a Mono U artifact deck. At the moment Sai is at the helmet. I had a number of different Mono U buildings. Urza, Lord High Artificer [/card] was way to strong and Memnarch [/card] drew to much hate, nobody likes their permanents to be stolen. At some point I had Padeem, Consul of Innovati...

Sneak Attack : Cheating in big creatures at reduced cost so I can copy them Phyrexian Metamorph : Cheap clone effect Seedborn Muse : Untap effects are fantastic, combine with flashy effects (all hail the overlord: Prophet of Kruphix ) Gilded Drake : I use it as removal Reanimate : Not just the card...

Re: It's The Mimeoplasm!
One of my favorite creatures in Mimeoplasm decks is Lord of Extinction. Combine with evasion X creature and hasty boots for hilarious blow outs. Also fantastic with Greater Good.

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - Mulldrifter
I only play Mulldrifter for his evoke cost. In my Riku deck it is 4 cards for 5 mana. Also since he is a creature he can be pretty abuseable.

Re: Kykar, Wind’s Fury
I've said this on other Kykar threads, but if you are basically creature-less, then you need to find a copy of Overburden. It's hilarious, especially on turn 2. Sadly Overburden doesn't work with tokens, the errata says: Whenever a player puts a nontoken creature onto the battlefield, that player r...

Riku of Two Reflections
Sorry for the bad english in advance This is my Riku deck. I play this deck ever since Riku came out. The deck comes on and off the shelf and had a lot of changes over the years. The deck evolved (back in the days Commander was called EDH) from Momir Vig, Simic Visionary to Intet, the Dreamer and be...

Re: Suggestions for a high power Selesnya deck
I think Teeg will draw a lot of hate. Selesnya isn't really a competitive color combination in my opinion. However, add black and things will go crazy with Ghave or Karador. Especially with Ghave, who seems to be the natural home for Craterhoof and Cradle. Also Chulane, Teller of Tales seems fun. Do...

Hmm, didn't see it was a ''may''. I have an old version with a lot of text and it was the first time I played the card. Anyway, will remove the card for some draw effect.

Re: Varina, Lich Queen - Esper Zombie Midrange
Played a game with my Varina, Lich Queen deck against Volrath, the Shapestealer and Ghave, Guru of Spores . Drew a hand with 2 rocks( Worn Powerstone and Talisman of Hierarchy , Rhystic Study , Rhystic Study and 3 land. Decided to land the study as quick as possible. Opponents had a fresh memory of ...

Re: Lord of Exctinction
I used Lord of Extinction in my The Mimeoplasm mill deck. It was nuts. It often had a 30/30 + body. It's true that it only seems like a vanilla beater, but if you use him like that you use him wrong. I used him with Greater Good , Momentous Fall , Life's Legacy , Prime Speaker Zegana . My favorite c...

Re: Varina, Lich Queen - Esper Zombie Midrange
Nice man! Great additions to the deck! I think those shadowlands are nice to fix mana, you really want to drop these? I recently added some to other decks, yet have to draw into one. Witch's Cottage seems alright when you draw it later in the game. You don't waste a slot in your deck for some card t...

Re: Much Ado About Arcane Signet, or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Fellwar Stone
When I saw the card I wanted it sooo badly, until I saw the price which made me reconsider. $10,- for a common manarock which is likely to see a reprint in the next commander product is too much for me.

So, I made the decision a couple weeks ago to apply to make this thread a primer - you guys are pretty vocal, and in case you're not aware this is at present the second most viewed decklist on Nexus. Re: Varina, Lich Queen - Esper Zombie Midrange
Command the Dreadhorde is another mass reanimation spell you could try. One of the reasoons i have SOrin to give lifelink to my zombies. Really damm usefull. Thank you! Really like that card. I think the deck is gaining enough life with Varina to bring back some zombies. Also Sorin is seems useful,...

Re: Varina, Lich Queen - Esper Zombie Midrange
Congrats! Sounds like you had a fun game with some ups and downs, and it's interesting that you were able to switch from aristocrat strategies to combat jamming to drive home the win. It's a talent knowing when to make the change and execute it well, and it's part of why I really enjoy this deck, i...

Re: Varina, Lich Queen - Esper Zombie Midrange
Played a game last night with Varina and won! Most of the time when I win I switch with another deck so I only played one game. My opponents already knew the deck and were aware of mass reanimation. Dropped a mana rock and a Zombie Master early. Then dropped Varina and turn after that a Lord Cemeter...

Re: Varina, Lich Queen - Esper Zombie Midrange
I don't think Bone Miser is a bad Alhammarett's Archive . They both do different things but they work very good with Varina. Bone Miser might clutter the already filled 5 cmc but I think hes worth playing because of the advantage he gives. I agree dropping lots of low cmc zombies is a good strategy ...

Last precon commander deck I bought was the monowhite deck C14 deck... That deck just sucked and never bought another precon deck after that. Just picked some singles that looked cool. Until this year i'm in doubt about the madness deck and the populate deck of just buying some singles. As a command...

Re: What Makes Bad Games?
Yes, people should include more answers in their decks and not racing for combo's. Also threat assessment is important, not everyone is capable to see the same threat. Bad games happen when everyone is racing for their combo. The meta evolves in somekind of arms race.
