Re: Ideas for a different Spellslinger deck
If you want to play with Sevinne, I'd probably focus more on his first line of text: "Prevent all damage that would be dealt to Sevinne...". You could run a bunch of damage - based sweepers to clear the way, cheap counters for the rest, and even a couple fun combo cards . Or, just change t...

Re: Let’s brew Elsha!
My instinct is creatureless control using Elsha as essentially future sight in the command zone. Then you try to play control effects that don't kill her, like Winds of Abandon which is kind of ridiculous with flash, and comeuppance / aetherspouts effects. Probably a lot of good ways to get lands o...

Re: Ephara, God of the Polis - Flash Hatebears
Sudden Exchange - essentially a more easily playable plus uncounterable Commandeer . There are some absolutely mad noncreatures to gain control of in EDH, i.e. Ugin, the Spirit Dragon , Exsanguinate , and most amusing of all are any overload spells . Does this actually work with spells not on the s...

How many shuffles?
Hello friends,
How many shuffle effects do you run in your commander deck alongside cards such as Jace, the Mind Sculptor and Sensei's Divining Top to ensure that you don't lock up the top X cards of your deck in addition to the crappy hand you are trying to smooth out?

Re: Raff Capashen: Flash, like it oughta be...
Gotta ask though: why run The Immortal Sun when you run a decent suite of walkers yourself? Seems kind of nonbo. That's a good catch. At the time of this writing, I only have six walkers, and very few ways to actually dig up The Immortal Sun , so it hasn't become an issue yet. Furthermore, I'm prob...

Re: Raff Capashen: Flash, like it oughta be...
Got a chance to play two more games with Raff today. Unfortunately, the results were pretty bad. - Game 1, vs Niv-Mizzet, Reborn , Pir & Toothy , and Teysa Karlov - This game started out awkwardly, with a turn THREE?!? Talisman of Progress into a turn four Jace . I tried to dig for more lands, b...

Re: Which Orzhov Commander should I choose?
Unfortunately I don't think I can give too much more information about a direction. I think I'm leaning towards Daxos because I don't currently have anything enchantment-based, but the build path for Daxos seems a bit linear. I do have several "pet" cards that look like they'd be a lot of ...

Re: Which Orzhov Commander should I choose?
Daxos, easy. I'm absolutely unbiased ;) it's not like I've maintained a primer on him since 2016 ;) For real though, it's pretty much down to a toss-up between graveyard and enchantments. Daxos does the latter well, some of your other options do the former well (where's Teysa Karlov , by the way?)....

Which Orzhov Commander should I choose?
Hello friends, I've managed to assemble a rather large collection of Orzhov commanders, and I'm having trouble deciding which one to play with. Traditionally, I've always been a fan of the graveyard, enchantments, and flexible removal spells. I have the following commanders available to choose from:...

Re: Geth: suicide control
Geth brings everything back tapped, so Amulet of Vigor helps with that. Sac outlets are usually there to allow Geth to re-steal them if need be. I would recommend Altar of Dementia over any non-Altar sac outlet because the payoff for using it is exactly what Geth already wants to do and the free ac...

Re: Is it time to cut signets entirely?
Given that most commanders I play cost four mana, I want as many two-mana ramp spells as possible.
Arcane Signet will probably be relegated to non-green mono-colored decks, but it's still fine in two-color lists as well.

Thanks for the input guys I've set my sights on building Cap'n Jhoira . Any tips for building her? If it's not too late, I'd throw you a curve and suggest Kurkesh, Onakke Ancient cuz no one else has done it. If you have your heart set on Jhoira, I'd just keep the curve as low as possible and go fro...

Re: "Help me cut a card" thread
Thanks for all the feedback. I ended up going with Stronghold because it really needs Urborg to be effective, and I can make enough mana without it.
More to the point, hopefully others will be able to use this thread for similar questions.

"Help me cut a card" thread
Hello friends, Since cutting cards is arguably the hardest part of deck construction, I wanted to start a thread where people could ask for help cutting that one last card from their list, or fitting that one new card into their existing list. This was inspired by a similar thread for cubes, which y...

Re: Blood/Bond combo
Exquisite blood works with a lot more cards. For example, Pestilence really shines with it. It is a lot easier to trigger. Sanguine bond requires you to target as well, so even if you do trigger it you do not hit all opponents. The presence of either card signifies combo and are 'must kill' cards. ...

Blood/Bond combo
Hello friends,
Wanted to get some outside perspective on the combo of Exquisite Blood and Sanguine Bond. How good/bad is the combo, how are the pieces on their own, is it one of those "done to death" pairs, and what kind of deck would you build around these pieces?

Cards like this are why the format is awesome.
Last time I saw one, I stole it with In Bolas's Clutches, then cascaded a Counterspell off the top to protect it!
