archmage wouldnt actually be bad cause you can stack triggers so that you draw cards after you resolved the chain of smog x number of times
edit: im dumb and dont think properly. archmage would put the trigger before you get the chance to copy it

[SCD] Chain of Smog
with all the magecraft cards coming in strixhaven, will chain of smog become too strong and require a ban?
my friend has been advocating for a ban since he saw professor onyx since it spoiled the magecraft mechanic saying that Chain of Smog is going to break half of the sets cards.

Re: Unreleased and New Card Discussion
i personally really like the silverquill command cause of the edict. it's great for dealing with voltron commanders or creature lite decks and it has reanimation as well for getting back any aristocrats that might be in the yard.

Liliana, Heretical Healer vs Tinybones, Trinket Thief
im making a discard deck and debating which legendary to use.
while tinybones will give me CA, liliana will give me a more reliable discard .
In your opinion what do you think is a more effective discard commander.

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - Krark, the Thumbless
i use it to play storm in edh. making inf mana into either a Fireball or a Grapeshot . obv the partner is Sakashima of a Thousand Faces to make all the copies of krark. its my jank deck that i play with people who dont want to take the game too seriously. The game generally ends when i have 4 copies...

Re: Unreleased and New Card Discussion
So ive been playtesting Tergrid, God of Fright in replacement of my Tinybones, Trinket Thief as a commander and ive felt that tergrid comes down too late to be able to take control of the board. I generally want to have atleast 2-3 mana open when i cast her so i can get immediate advantage of her ab...

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - Blackblade Reforged
I have basically zero use for anything that all it does is pump a creature, unless it's *insanely* cheap. Ethereal Armor I'll play but not Ancestral Mask . Sure, sometimes it's a great play I guess, but man it's boring :) Ancestral mask also counts your opponent's enchantments too. So if you know y...

Re: Let's brew! Hamza, Guardian of Arashin Tempered Steel
I think Hamza would also do well as a hydra commander, although he might be a win-more. the more hydras you have on the field the bigger the next one becomes. some of the hydras synergize with the archbounds like wildwood scourge, vastwood hydra, scourge of skola vale, kalonian hydra

Re: PSA: Don't be a tool, don't play spell lands Belcher
onering i don't see how this landless deck is any different from any other combo deck. most of them sit there do nothing until it gets the card it needs and then asks if anyone has an answer before it wins which is what all combo decks do. I want to know where you draw the line that a combo is ok o...

Re: June 1 2020 rules changes
What's more surprising is that there are two new cards banned in Standard. Seriously, how many cards have been banned in recent years now? From the likes of this article , we're now at 15 cards banned in standard in just the last 3.5 years. 15 cards! I feel terrible for everyone that has been inves...

June 1 2020 rules changes
https://magic.wizards.com/en/articles/archive/news/june-1-2020-banned-and-restricted-announcement?zz So I guess this means that lutri remains banned. With companion impacting every other format, wizards has decided to change how companions work by adding a 3 mana special action required to put them...

Re: [SCD] Dranith Magistrate
The Magistrate I feel is quite powerful. It is a hate bear, but it shuts down playing from your library and your graveyard. Both very important for a lot of various decks. I think that is more powerful than just shutting off the commander. I understand playing from the graveyard but what cards actu...

How to use the alternate arts for card arts?
I was wondering what to type in the card img tag to pull the alternate card arts within the same sets ie. Constellations, Godzilla world, monster alternate forms, and extended borders.

[SCD] Drannith Magistrate
I'm wondering what people's thoughts on this card is in the cedh format. while many decks don't revolve around their commander, i feel like having this card can stall them from getting added value or drawing removal that would be meant for other key pieces.

How to deal with people playing for prizes?
So my lgs recently held a 2hg commander tournament with a set of the brawl decks for prizes and smaller prizes for other placements. My friend and I were interested in trying our hand at the main prize and signed up with a Rashmi value control and an Arahbo kittens deck. Our first game were against ...

Re: Are hatebears viable?
I enjoy playing hatebear decks but the main problems as you have discovered is closing out the game once you have sufficiently locked down the board. Here are a few ways I have closed out games. - Any inf combo: basically you stall until you can tutor for pieces for a combo of your choice. you are i...
