Re: Zada: Grinding up an Arcane Storm

Been enjoying this deck for a while, but wondering if you guys have any tricks or methods you use to speed up turns, can easily go off and have a big turn that can take 10-20 minutes to come to a win and can be a bit boring for other players in the game. Often by the time it gets to that point, a wi...

Re: Solphim, Mayhem Dominus - burninate the countryside [brainstorming]

I've also been playing around with this commander as a mono red burn deck, but my solution was Dragon's Approach. My deck is still a WIP but I think this is a fun way to build the commander.

Re: Zada: Grinding up an Arcane Storm

Loving some of the stuff from ONE... Gleeful Demolition seems spicy for 3 gobbos if we've still got a tapped Vault around Also liking Blazing Crescendo as pump and card advantage. Also potentially puts Rile back on the menu as a 1-drop cantrip since Crescendo brings toughness with card advantage. I...

Re: Zada: Grinding up an Arcane Storm

Kick in the Door is a card I do like, you want about 7 copies to go right through it at a minimum, but with Zada it's not hard to get 70 copies, as Toshi said it does take a while to resolve :D It's been in my list since the start and I wouldn't consider cutting it yet. You can just keep running th...

Re: Zada: Grinding up an Arcane Storm

I did some brainstorming for Defiler of Instinct , but because most Zada decks are more instant/sorcery centric I think the limitations to permanents limit it's use. Unless the deck includes Cloudstone Curio , I don't think that mana cost and red mana as life allows it to perform as well as Treason...

Re: Zada: Grinding up an Arcane Storm

Has anyone tried out Defiler of Instinct from the latest set? looks similar to Treasonous Ogre however slightly more restrictive, costs less health and also pings something for damage whenever you use it.

Re: Zada: Grinding up an Arcane Storm

Sorry for the late reply, have been traveling on vacation and had no internet access. I think your more recent comment is dead on: colorless manlands are great for fitting more creatures into the available deck slots. The relatively low opportunity cost in red mana is where the trade-off shows up. ...

Re: Zada: Grinding up an Arcane Storm

The man lands are probably fine if you're looking for more bodies but frankly this deck tends to win with maybe 4 lands out at most a large amount of the time and you're going to always be searching for that last red pip to keep the storm going. Packing a bunch of non red lands in is probably not w...

Re: Zada: Grinding up an Arcane Storm

Hey all, I have been brewing my own Zada deck over the last few weeks and found this thread today, it has been a fascinating read and has given me a few new ideas. One thing I haven't seen discussed yet is man lands, In my own brew I've been using Inkmoth Nexus, Blinkmoth Nexus and Mishra's Factory ...
