Re: Imodane - Why is the burn deck gaining life?

A handful of additional changes that I wanted to make after giving things a little more thought. Originally I thought that ramping to my commander was the objective but given more thought I am probably going to need to have resolved my commander and then resolve an enabler followed by burn or possib...

Re: Indominus Rex

I'm just curious...what do you do to help the table keep track of Indominus' abilities? Cause I wonder if there are cool counters on Etsy or something that can help you keep track! I have a different deck that can get several types of counters and use a dry erase card l. I write out the types of co...

Re: Imodane - Why is the burn deck gaining life?

I was thinking of ways to utilize the life gain and my Greven deck has Immolating Souleater , Treasonous Ogre , Moltensteel Dragon . With Imodane lifelink I could see using Treasonous Ogre to fuel x cards like Purphoros's Intervention , Shatterskull Smashing , Mishra's Command . Moltensteel Dragon ...

Imodane - Why is the burn deck gaining life?

Ok, I realized that the commander's ability makes the commander do the damage themselves which means that giving them lifelink results in a simple Lightning Bolt give me 9 life assuming no modifier. My next realization is that anything that boosts damage done to my spells like say Torbran, Thane of ...

Re: Taii Wakeen: Boros Control

I always think about Godo, Bandit Warlord whenever I am running Batterskull but I am struggling to find a second equipment that is high priority and worth paying six mana for. It might still be a thing to consider. Justice Strike I hate seeing it when you don't have Swords to Plowshares in the deck....

Re: Evelyn - Vampire Mill?

Yeah Roaming Throne unironically is the best vampire in the deck by my reckoning! There's been some wild prints this past year. Tezzeret the Seeker is an interesting option - at the worst he's kind of pseudo ramp to help an inherently mana-hungry deck, and at the best you're fetching possibly the s...

Re: Evelyn - Vampire Mill?

Great call adding Roaming Throne thats something I should probably do as well and I do have a few copies so I guess thats something I should do lol. I almost wonder if the addition of Roaming Throne is so strong that you wouldn't want to also run Tezzeret the Seeker given he only costs one extra man...

Re: Evelyn - Vampire Mill?

Hey! I realise this is a little out of nowhere. I love the list. This is the first Evelyn list I've managed to find that's meshed with the idea I had for what I wanted the deck to be. I originally planned on something similar, though leaned more heavily into token generation, but it felt thin on th...

Re: SCD: Freestrider Lookout

My concern here is that this seems like a narrow setup of a few cards that has a decent payoff that doesn't win the game. Its probably Seedborn Muse level of concern or more if its actually set up but it doesn't win the game and it takes a combo of cards. Its cute don't get me wrong but I just died ...

Falco Landfall Creature Storm

Ok, I both am and am not a storm deck. The payoff for doing this is mostly the rate at which I get to play my deck rather than relying on actual storm cards but I probably could if I really wanted push some storm cards in but for now I was more interested in just making the commander function and ke...

Re: Queen Kayla - Norin Soul Sisters

Ok, just an update for anyone interested but I am retiring this one. It is and was fun but my problem is it just gets blown out way hard by sweepers. I did manage to stall a game out to be like 2.5 hours and I always felt like I was doing things right up until someone blew me out and the reset was j...

Re: Thassa's Oracle / Jace, Wielder of Mysteries

Some of my fear is that for some reason a lot of people don't see an issue with Thassa's Oracle as a wincon. I don't know why that is but I have seen a hell of a lot of her since printing without ever building a cEDH deck myself. From a optimized to the teeth point I don't know what the next best la...

Re: Thassa's Oracle / Jace, Wielder of Mysteries

If it were me I would hit Tainted Pact, Demonic Consultation, and Thassa's Oracle because I don't think the game is any better for having any of them in the format. It still leaves the lab man wincon and jace but it doubles the cost to play the wincon and takes it off of being an ETB. I'd be ok wit...

Re: Thassa's Oracle / Jace, Wielder of Mysteries

I've been thinking a bunch about thassas oracle lately and I think it might not actually be the issue. Laboratory Maniac and Jace, Wielder of Mysteries were still quite dominant before and I think maybe Tainted Pact and Demonic Consultation are the issues. If it takes two other cards or infinite dr...

Re: SCD: Recurring Nightmare

I agree that its not the same level of scope of problem, I am just in this weird zone right now where there are so many things I want them to ban that unbanning cards just hasn't really been on my radar with so many problems running about. I do think it could be a problem card for casual metas but t...

Re: Raffine Brainstorming

I could possibly see leaning hard into the reanimator side of things. The fact that you get to throw away things sets the rez effects up easily. The self recurring things like Bloodghast are easy but I was also thinking reanimator in the idea of like filtering some big fat juicy creatures to grave a...

Re: Help Wanted - Karlach, the Inspiring

I think you have too many cards to make your attackers better. I would want to see a lot more creatures that attack and on attack spawn attacking tokens personally. Your commander gives multiple combats and the other buffs tokens so on attack spawn token is probably like everything I would be lookin...

Can you pay for the same mode multiple times or is it just that you can activate up to each ability once? I was thinking it would be funny to chain a fetchland crack but if you can only do each one once it becomes less amusing.

A bit late to the party but Lin Sivvi, Defiant Hero likes to respond to freaking everything. She does a bunch of little things and its mostly defensive toolboxing but its a nightmare to try to kill her off.`

Re: [SCD] Pip-Boy 3000

Probably not a factor, but if your two lands tap for at least [sym=3][sym=R][sym=R], it combos off with Aggravated Assault . I guess you could go deep with that via Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx . It sounds like it wants to just be Sword of Feast and Famine but I guess it has the upside of giving you the ...

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - Animal Friend

Its awkward in that you are sort of stacking a bunch of buffs in one location while going wide. Usually you don't want to go both big and wide but the small cavoite I will give it is that it might help against edicts. I think this card is probably in most cases a trap though.

Re: [SCD] Pip-Boy 3000

The fact that its on attack rather than on doing damage is nice as it means if you get chumped it doesn't matter. The filter mode is weaker than Mask of Memory but it is again an on attack rather than doing damage to a player trigger. I think its probably fine. I think the filter and untaps are the ...
