Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - Vanquisher's Banner

I believe Maro mentioned typal a few months ago. Internet search suggests they made the change in June. And yes, it is because they want to avoid any connotations associated to the word Tribal. They had consultants that pushed them to change the word.

Yay on Breeches.
Yay on the 'parental figures' suite, although I am not sure that we want all three.
I think 3 is a good amount tbh. And maybe 2-3 more 1-drops (like the haste enablers) and we can be happy that whatever we do turn one will impact the whole game.

I feel like we can group these under 'parental figures'. Yay to all.

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - Kaya the Inexorable

There are decks where this is cool. I am putting one in Ratadrabik of Urborg. Decks where you proactively sacrifice your dudes.

Re: The Community Deck Build Project v9.0

I just want to be able to draw cards when I have an empty board. And sometimes you want to dig for an answer and you aren't blanking removal. You are just tossing your dude.
You are looking at these effects when they are at their best. I just want more reliable card draw.

Re: The Community Deck Build Project v9.0

Nay dragon engine Yay copter pass on deadly dispute. I know why you all want it, I just don't particularly like my card draw attached to sacrificing creatures if there is no synergy. I would play night's whisper over this 100 times out of 10. For my nomination, since we seem to be looking for mana a...

Re: The Community Deck Build Project v9.0

I was potty training my toddler this weekend, so I missed a bunch I am medium on STronghold Assassing taking a turn to activate (though we do have a lot of haste). I am also medium on non-black. I do like sacrificing myrad tokens though. Can we get more myriad before I say Yay? My nomination would b...

Re: How familiar are you with Doctor Who?

I have probably watched a dozen or so episodes of the 2005- show. It is a show I am sure I would really enjoy if I ever sat down to watch it. I will probably get to it one day. Some of the cards are super cool. Some have references I don't get. I feel like cards are overly wordy to match a very spec...

Re: The Community Deck Build Project v9.0

Its not that you want it to be a lightning rod its that paying 1 mana to drain life someone for 12 duress their removal and tempo their early game plays is quite a bit of value for 1 mana. I agree if we want to make this a more combo synergy deck and not aggro that's not as good but in a aggro deck...

Re: The Community Deck Build Project v9.0

I mean I think we do want a low curve. I hate Serra Avatar and in my soul believe there are better options in that slot for this deck, but maybe not. I think we want 5-6 1-drops in the deck so that hero of bladehold can actually win the game... I just think I would rather 1 drops that generate card ...

Re: The Community Deck Build Project v9.0

Push seems okay, but a bit mediocre? if we can trigger revolt reliably I would yay. But it's not like we are playing 9 fetches in this.
Maybe Cut Down or Vendetta do the trick?
Or even Bolt?

you all vote how you feel

i was surprised anguished unmaking got nayed, and people suggested removal attached to creatures.... but if that is getting nayed too then I think we have to better explain what kind of removal y'all want.

The Master, Multiplied is an interesting design. I'm sure there's a way to break him.
Seems fun to make a kiki deck with this general. Splinter twin on a praetor maybe? Lots of cool things.
As far as breaking things go I would look at what Sundial of the Infinite might enable.

Re: The Community Deck Build Project v9.0

I don't know what to make of Savior. The fact it puts the bodies back on the battlefield (as opposed to Angel of Serenity ) makes me not want to use this as removal, ever. Using it as a recursion engine tells me it's also a high priority target. Hmm, I think this is a nay. I'd love to be convinced ...

Yay scavengers. Been a busy week, I missed a lot.
Nay Serra Ascendant

I will nominate Savior of Ollenbock. I like how you can use it to recur your dudes if you have no good targets to exile.

Re: The Community Deck Build Project v9.0

I will yeah Fervent charge. I know Graveyard Trespasser is proactive and not reactive, but we are a proactive deck. We aren't leaving mana up to react. We are applying pressure from the start. If it interrupts someone's exhume plan then great. If it is making it harder for players to delve that work...

Toc confirmed them both but I would also yay pest and Laelia.

I will nominate Graveyard Trespasser // Graveyard Glutton. The Ward cost is annoying and you can exile a lot of cards with this guy.

Re: [Off-Topic] Community Chat Thread

The waning of forums is a shame, it's not too big of a deal for my hobies like mtg and DnD at the end of the day, it's just a game, but so much valuable information is hidden behind invite-only discords now. For me forums died with the IMDb message board closure. IMDB's boards constituted the most ...

Re: The Community Deck Build Project v9.0

I really like Deafening silence here, big yay 3drinks I think you missed my nay on Reckoner Bankbuster (top of this page) My first though for purphoros as yeay but I think Toc made some good points. Purph does two things that suit this deck but does both a bit poorly so I wonder if we actually want ...
