Stockpile is pretty bad. It wants you to discard action? Like... maybe a Chainer deck would run it... or Scarab God? I just think there are better ways to discard your reanimation targets.
Don't like that you have to discard creatures.

Re: Anti-Ramp: Solutions?
I would like something that exiles all lands in play and redistributes them evenly to all players. Feels like a red effect. Plays in Zedruu space.

Thank you for sharing.
His dislike for tutors gives me hope that a solution will be found.
I also liked his approach to Green Ramp - more cards that play in the design space of helping you if you are behind on lands.

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - Solemn Simulacrum
Still really strong in Alesha and Marchesa, which can abuse both abilities. If your general is 6+ mana, it can also be a good accelerant. Great with Mimic Vat.

Re: "Jank" cards which have flummoxed you?
I once had a very explosive start with Maelstrom Wanderer, which included a Pathbreaker Ibex. I think it was turn 3 or 4. I could have killed a single player but decided to spread the love and try to kill the table the next turn. Then my opponent, who just had a Trinket Mage in play, cast Reins of P...

I like it with Delve cards - exile the spells you really don't want back in hand.

Liliana, Dreadhorde General seems better.
Fecundity too.
Probably also cards like Harvester of Souls and Grim Haruspex.

Re: Eliminating First Player Advantage
It fight our common sense to think that turn 2 doesn't have an advantage over turn 4.... but if we accept that to be the case, then perhaps we can just have all players except for the one starting have a scry 1.
Would be interesting to have the CAG bring up this discussion point.

Dark Deal
red wheels
Waste not
Oppression and Bottomless Pit
If you want cards that reward you for making opponents discard, you should probably be playing cards that make each player draw cards... otherwise your opponents are empty handed and your cards do nothing.

Re: Monowhite: Things to do with a fist full of lands
Discarding big permanents due to full hand size and reanimating them with Emeria Shepherd?
Walking Atlas?
I don't think you are missing any of the ways to abuse this in monowhite.

I have been thinking about this. Two of my torpor orbs are creatures, so I feel like it is a nonbo. Thanks for the suggestion.

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - Uvenwald Hydra
I play it in one deck, where there is a lot of support.
I tutors my Nykthos (and cradle should I decide to sleeve it up), but also synergizes with Mwonvuli Beast Tracker, Fierce Empath, and can work with Wild Pair and my general to tutor specific creatures. .

Re: Bant bounce options
I mean, you already said you don't want to go infinite... But... Conjurer's Closet ? You don't HAVE to bounce it at end turn, but if you want that extra turn, it's there. No. I want to build casually and play competitively. Putting in a 2-card infinite turn combo is the opposite of what I want. Hav...

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - Myr Enforcer
I have seen Frogmite in EDH but not the enforcer. If you want free artifacts, this is a long way down the list... and if you want a vanilla 4/4, you're not playing my kind of EDH.

Evacuation could be good. I would be scared to flood of tears and allow opponents to take advantage for a turn without hatebears.

Re: Bant bounce options
E Wit is not in my deck since it is a torpor orb deck.
I guess I am looking for one-shot bounce effects or flicker effects that have modality like mystic confluence or simic charm.

Re: Bant bounce options
So to be clear, you want versatile bounce effects but not stuff like Capsize and Crystal Shard that theoretically threaten to go infinite? And they can't be creatures like Whitemane Lion or Shrieking Drake because your deck has a full Torpor package to prevent EtBs? And it needs to be able to targe...

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - Aetherworks Marvel
I remember there was a guy that was excited to ram it into his Marchesa, the Black Rose . I don't remember it taking on too dominant a role in there. However, that deck saw it fit to Jokulhaups finish, so I avoided interacting with it too much :P think Marchesa's one of the better commanders for it...

Bant bounce options
So, I have a casual deck in Bant colours that has all the Torpor Orb effects in it. Because of this, I decided to include Wormfang Manta . Since it is a torpor orb deck, this is the only card that benefits from flickering effects... and so I don't have any. I have one spell that can bounce a creatur...

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - Aetherworks Marvel
I think that if you want to build around AM, you probably are building some kind of loop or combo that has extra steps to include AM. Unfortunately, you can't just throw it into a deck for value, as there is not enough support. Best I can see it doing is that if you play a token deck that doesn't ha...

Re: Eliminating First Player Advantage
Rather than eliminating the first draw of the game, I would prefer player 2 gets to Scry 1, player 3 gets to Scry 2, and player 4 gets to scry 3.

Re: What would it take for Primeval Titan and Sylvan Primordial to be unbanned?
Primeval Titan will only become more powerful as more lands are printed. I think it is unlikely to be banned. That being said, if Gaea's Cradle and some other powerful lands were banned then maybe it could be reconsidered. Sylvan Primordial I am not sure. I guess it is just a card that scales too we...

Re: Commander 2019 how would you upgrade the decks upgrades
I wouldn't say that there are mistakes. Precons are always about 40-50% decks. The mana base is where the most improvement can be made. There are sooo many ETB tapped lands in the decks. Is there a particular deck you want to focus on? Like, the madness deck you can take out the less focused cards a...

Re: When it it Okay to Unleash the Hounds?
I don't get this question... If a game ends in the first 6 turns I think it stinks.... but that doesn't mean that if I drew really well and can clear the table on turn 5 that I would not 'release the hounds'. To me, how the game ends is more important than when the game ends. Turn 14 topdecking a to...
