Re: Grenzo, Dungeon Warden - The Slot Machine of Value

Is Summoner's Egg a good fit? I think Clone Shell is the superior version of this type of effect, as it allows you to rearrange your bottom of the deck and doesn't require you to have anything in hand. Currently my build is sitting at 6 creature-based free sac outlets, Ashnod's Altar , High Market ...

Re: Teshar, Ancestor's Apostle | Eggs, Cheerios & Weenies

Thank you so much Toshi :) really awesome to get such a detailed answer! I honestly do not really care about the price because I proxy everything. so I try to go for maximum efficiency. I play online through the PlayEDH or CompetitiveEDH discord channels and they both allow proxies. As for the meta,...

Re: Teshar, Ancestor's Apostle | Eggs, Cheerios & Weenies

Quick question, do you think your list is viable in cEDH? I'm currently using the decklist from Mateus_Nogueira on Moxfield. I run into exactly the same problems you mentioned in the beginning of this thread: 1. Commander reliant. As soon as opponents sniff a combo, they immediately remove teshar 2....

Re: Grenzo, Dungeon Warden - The Slot Machine of Value

Personally I run these sac outlets: - Prospector (although its only goblins) - Viscera Seer - Soldevi Adnate (Tap ability so only 1 per turn. You can theoretically activate twice in a row if you do it at end step of previous player) - Woe Strider - Yahenni - Dimir House Guard - Trashmaster (only Go...

Re: Grenzo, Dungeon Warden - The Slot Machine of Value

Is Summoner's Egg a good fit? It can get a card out of your hand and is an artifact for things that care about it. While it only lets you get one card, it can be better than our other discard outlets since it goes into play. I've actually never seen this card before. It looks pretty cool. Since the...

Now this card is pretty amazing... his first ability is absolutely amazing due to the high cost cards we play with Grenzo.
It cares about power, not mana value. So usually 3 Treasures maximum. :D

Re: Grenzo, Dungeon Warden - The Slot Machine of Value

Ruthless Technomancer does look very promising! Both mana generation and reanimation are great utility. Now this card is pretty amazing... his first ability is absolutely amazing due to the high cost cards we play with Grenzo. Add to that the second ability and you can go infinite mana with Docksid...

Re: Grenzo, Dungeon Warden - The Slot Machine of Value

Hey MtG Maniak no doubt it is an excellent card. The only downside is being 4 power, so that means 2 additional counters on Grenzo, 4 mana to cast him. Unless you have some ramp the first turns it will mean a turn 3 / 4 when he can be out and turn 4 / 5 when you can start flipping cards. That might ...

Hi everyone, was taking a look at the previews of Innistrad Crimson Vow and one card card caught my eye: Olivia, Crimson Bride 4RB 3/4 creature with Flying, Haste "Whenever Olivia attacks, return target creature card from your graveyard to the battlefield tapped and attacking, it gains "Wh...

Re: Grenzo, Dungeon Warden - The Slot Machine of Value

So I havent been able to play magic for a long time, but ive kept up with new cards (kinda). There is a local budget commander tournament I want to enter, and as this decklist so close to my heart, I really want to run Grenzo here, thought it could be fun and i might be able to fit it in budget and...

@Outcryqq aaah you're super right! I forgot about that on the Ziggurat. I completely missed it

Correct, on Safe Haven it was in this case less on speed but more on maximising ETBs, especially on Dockside

@Kl3dge sorry, so what you're saying is Rest in Peace does not disrupt Prowling Geistcatcher's ability to exile creature's that you've sacrificed?

Re: Grenzo, Dungeon Warden - The Slot Machine of Value

This is actually not true! The sacrificed creatures are exiled FROM the graveyard. It is NOT a replacement effect but a delayed trigger. This is confirmed in the release notes from the set. "If you sacrifice a nontoken creature you control but don't own, Prowling Geistcatcher will still cause ...

Re: Grenzo, Dungeon Warden - The Slot Machine of Value

that card is entering my list 100%. apart from all the good points you have stated, is also a 2/4 which is basically the best power for grenzo. also cmc4 and only 1 black is actually very castable from hand and probably a good idea to do it even. this thing and ashnod altar probably combo for the w...

Re: Grenzo, Dungeon Warden - The Slot Machine of Value

I did see a really interesting card in the Commander decks of Innistrad: Prowling Geistcatcher The more I read the card the more excited I get, I think it adds a new dimension to the deck. This card in play with Ashnod's Altar is an insane combination. 5 reasons why I immediately liked it: - It can ...

Re: Grenzo, Dungeon Warden - The Slot Machine of Value

Gribbet I think its fine if you want to have an extra removal card, but there are better ones without all the extra steps. example: Ravenous Chupacabra or Meteor Golem . One big advantage though might be casting cost. if you end up with meteor golem in hand, there is no way you are casting it. the ...

Re: Grenzo, Dungeon Warden - The Slot Machine of Value

if you still want it inside i would advice to put a decklsit so that i can better advice on what you should do with your list. i will say now that you need minimun 50 creatures+grenzo in this deck for it to make sense in my opinion. also 35 lands. so you have 14 no-creatures to play with (in my cas...
