Re: Places to visit in the Multiverse
Places I would visit: Ravnica... because I have an unhealthy obsession with Ral. Kaladesh... because it seems like a lovely place when Tezzeret isn't in charge. Fiora... because it also seems like a fascinating place. I clearly just like the highly civilized planes lol. I'm sure many of the Planecha...

Re: Mystery Booster Foils
To be fair about Storm Crow, the 7th Edition foil is $16. This is the only black border foil that will exist, which will absolutely raise the price.
Re: JumpStart
I would compare this to eating at a restaurant or getting food to go from a store like Wegman's. Sure, you could make the dish yourself, but you're going there to have someone more experienced make it for you and you're paying for the convenience. If you want to have this experience without the smal...

Re: yr thoughts on card frames/borders
I absolutely pay more to not have the original frame or white bordered cards unless it's an absurd price increase. And I don't hate the Modern border by any means, but unless I'm after a specific watermark or the price is significantly different, I'll go for the M15 border because it's sleeker. I ca...
Re: JumpStart
Cute product and I very muck acknowledge that I am not the target audience lol. The basics sound neat, can't wait to see them! It's a product for people that want to pay more and get less cards, or that desperately need basic lands. It's a product for people looking for a non-tradition Sealed experi...

Re: Secret Lair: International Women's Day
They made some great choices here. I do wish that the sleeve was Narset, but all of the art is very nice. My bf is definitely picking up Oona later and maybe Narset. first and foremost i would like to hear from actual female players if this is cool or not. I am not a "rah rah girl power" t...

$30 is an astoundingly great price for this! The art is gorgeous, too. I know so many people who are ecstatic and definitely buying it. Wizards keeps knocking it out of the park with these.

I think the FNM promo is my favorite, but this one is definitely going in Grand Arbiter! It's too pretty to just sit in my promo binder.

Re: Secret Lair
I'm actually glad that it didn't end up being a subscription box - they probably registered a bunch of domains just to have them. There's so many options! Can't wait to see what they do next year. Eldraine Wonderland is a great value, idk why people don't think $30 for five snow basics is a good pri...

Can't believe no one's posted here yet that Wizards registered domains for magicsecretlair.com, secretlairdropseries.com, and secretlairultimateedition.com a few weeks ago. Definitely a subscription service.

Re: War of the Spark: Forsaken summary posted on reddit
The thread isn't marked 'no spoilers', why are people using spoiler tags lol? I'm truly shocked that people think Jace and Vraska are over. Fictional relationships that don't have any bumps in the road are very rare and VERY boring. Chandra and Nissa were always incredibly awkward together, unlike w...

Re: MTG Hot Takes
Wild west plane sounds horrible an I'd only tolerate it if we had Angrath as a featured/leading character. Oh I totally agree. It sounds super cheesy. Angrath is a necessity if they ever go down that path, though! On discord a week or so ago, we were talking about if there were tropes in Westerns a...

Re: What would you do to fix War of the Spark?
Hire an actual novelist to write it, release the damn "prequels" on time (a company like Hasbro should have been able to foresee the legal difficulties) so people know what is going on, and find a better form of exposition that isn't a character who can do literally everything and knows li...

Re: MTG Hot Takes
My hot takes: The vast majority of people in game stores do not match the stereotype of unwashed neckbeards and people continuing to perpetuate that false stereotype are doing a massive disservice to Magic as a whole. Most alters just destroy the card and it hurts to see something valuable treated l...

Re: New Format Pioneer
I can't express enough just how much I do not want to play this format. No fetches and everything broken we've hated about Standard for the last 4 years? Hard pass. Very glad I'm not a grinder who's now forced to buy into another format because Wizards decided they can't control Modern.

Re: ELD - The Wildered Quest
It was made INCREDIBLY clear that Will is bi. He blushed just as much over Titus and he did with Cerise. They couldn't have made it more obvious unless they literally wrote "WILL IS BI" in bold letters in the book. The portal just seems like a quicker way to get where they needed to go, an...

Re: Changes in product line (PW decks now Core only)
Seems reasonable. Hopefully they'll keep making them interesting walkers instead of the same ones over and over. We didn't really need 11 per year.
We already have a ton of mana rocks, one more expensive one isn't the end of the world. I'm sure it'll be in EDH precons, though.

I don't see how it would tie into it. It was just a necessary step in curing Garruk and reminding people of why it was there in the first place.5colorsrainbow wrote: ↑4 years ago
Just now thinking we did have Cerise remove the hedron so maybe that will tie into Zendikar 3?

Re: [ELD] ELD trailer, future sets and brawl deck dump (MTG Twitch)
I'm at negative hype levels for Zendikar Rising. Battle for Zendikar block ruined EVERYTHING I liked about Magic and I don't have faith that they can do it well because they'll overcompensate. More Nissa? No thanks. I also don't really understand the love for original Zendikar besides the extremely ...

What? This card is fantastic and will absolutely see play! It's also the only card in the set that made me feel anything positive so far lol.Lucifer, Sapere Aude wrote: ↑4 years agoAlso, is this really the card of the set? Because the design it's awfully and awkwardly close of a planeswalker deck card.

Yeah, this website took it down. There's a German one that still has it.
I definitely think the second chapter takes place pre-Battlebond. It definitely doesn't seem like they've been gallivanting around the Multiverse yet... and they also do NOT look 17 in their art lol.
