Black Market Connections seems to be a good addition to the deck and a strong card in general.
That card flew under my radar, but I think it has merit, Especially since we can choose 1 or more. I run Phyrexian Arena and I may test this in that slot.

Re: Backgrounds and partners brainstorming

Pir, Imaginative Rascal and friend like Master Chef . Nah that is of more interest to Ezuri, Claw of Progress , or Skullbriar, the Walking Grave . Reyhan, Last of the Abzan & Keleth, Sunmane Familiar would also make a good use. Pir & Toothy specifically don't want to waste a 3 CMC slot on a...

Oh My! Mazzy I have been waiting for you!

I am probably the only person who is going to get excited by this commander. Over the past year I have been home brewing aggro deck based around Aura's. First I built Anax and Cymede . Then I switched the deck to Wyleth, Soul of Steel when he came out. Later I built Siona, Captain of the Pyleas usin...

Re: UB cards that are much stronger with flash

I have had a thought. It probably isn't a good one. I have been trying to make Dimir artifact reanimator work for 6 years give or take. Oskar might be a good commander to try again. Specifically I like how he interacts with Artificer's Intuition . Mirrodin Besieged would also gain additional synergy...

Re: UB cards that are much stronger with flash

Obligatory callout to Unfulfilled Desires . This card has been in every UB deck I have built for years, especially reanimator focused builds. At first glance the cost's may seem steep, but in practice I have never regretted spending the life and mana each turn. It is a great way to turn mana left op...

Have you considered Empyrial Armor? I had built an aura deck around Wyleth, Soul of Steel where I found it to be a powerful buff.

Re: Pir & Toothy, Imagine a Bigger Friend!

It has been a while since my last update, but this build has been pretty stable. Just some minor changes. Arcum's Astrolabe was swapped out for my copy of Exploration after I tore down a lands matter deck. I also be testing out Slip Out the Back . As is always the case with a battlecruiser deck, you...

Re: Greven, Predator Captain - No Pain No Gain

I use Netherborn Altar and I find that is effective, so it is a good choice. Kardur, Doomscourge I will defend keeping. In a meta heavy on creatures he is an absolute bomb if played strategically. Basically Disrupt Decorum on a beat stick. I also run Sneak Attack which allows me to do it at instant ...

I think that Shakedown Heavy has a place in the deck. I'll be swapping out my Azra Oddsmaker to test it out.

I have only seen Lurrus of the Dream-Den & Karlov of the Ghost Council together, but I can't recall that player ever casting Lurrus. I know that the deck has since been deconstructed.

Re: Whitish-Feet (he who must not be spoiled)

I would add a couple of token makers that trigger with enchantments as a backup strategy. Archon of Sun's Grace at minimum.

Flickering Ward and if you wanted to add it, Conviction work well the Archon / Light-Paws, Emperor's Voice.

Re: Michiko Konda, Truth Seeker - Help Wanted

I came across Ward of Piety today while looking up white aura's. If you want to be cute, put this on a creature you know an opponent will want to block. The enchanted creature can belong to you or an opponent. When an opponent blocks it, redirect 1 damage to yourself. Re-directed damage will still r...

Re: Aggro Enchantress W/ Wyleth Soul of Steel

Neon Dynasty has me pretty excited for this deck. Not many cards have been officially spoiled yet, but Light-Paws and the new modified mechanic gives me hope that there will be some new toys to try out. My current build is below. As spoilers start to become official, I look forward to tweaking it. C...

Re: What is your most unique deck?

I have Wyleth, Soul of Steel h deck that I consider unique. I built him as an aura enchantress deck. Most people prefer to build him as a equipment commander, since the synergy in that strategy is more obvious.

Re: Unreleased and New Card Discussion

I am torn about Unfinity. The black border / acorn thing frustrates me. If they wanted to some un-cards to be legal legacy play, they should have just put them in a reprint set and left the main set in silver border. Or they could have slotted the black border versions in the collectors booster as a...

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - Perilous Forays

I ran it in my Slimefoot, the Stowaway build. Most of the time it sat in my hand, but the games where I could resolve and use it tended to get out of hand quickly. It is a card I am sad I didn't get to play with years ago when it was in it's prime.

Re: Saryth's Magnificent Trampling Circus

Sure, I do my deck work on Archidekt, though I think you'll find it pretty familiar; I am prone to using decks I find online as a foundation, and tweak them as I see fit. It is also very good stuff oriented. https://archidekt.com/decks/1976525#Saryth When I saw your decklist, I realized I had found ...

Re: Unreleased and New Card Discussion

so there's already a change for one card: Kamber, the Plunderer , The official text on Kamber states "a creature an opponent controls dies" rather than "a creature dies" which obviously changes how the card functions. Card Text: Partner with Laurine, the Diversion (When this cre...

Re: Unreleased and New Card Discussion

Engulfing Tide is a pretty cheap mass bounce effect, plus it provides a little card draw. Leaving something behind is a notable limitation though. Depends on how much you value the card draw. Returning everything except for 1 permanent each for [sym=2][sym=u][sym=u] is a price I'd pay gladly in man...

Re: Pir & Toothy, Imagine a Bigger Friend!

Quick Update: I have been having problems recovering from board wipes lateley. Downside of a signature deck with a lot of play, your opponents learn the best times to mess with your tempo. I have replaced Kalonian Hydra with Elder Gargaroth because the latter is better defensive choice that can reco...

Digging the Full Art for Chandra, Dressed to Kill. I don't what the lore is for Innistrad regarding vampires and fire, but other vampire fiction fire is quite deadly and even terrifying to vampires. If that is the came for Innistrad, that is quite the power move Chandra is making with that dress.

Re: Unreleased and New Card Discussion

That Zombie Scorpion is a thing of beauty. Agreed! It will be a valuable addition to any black deck that cares to sacrifice creatures. 2 life for 2 cards sorcery speed at a cost of [sym=2][sym=b] is on the weaker but playable. I you sacrifice a less valuable token that leaves you with a death touch...

I have been messing around with my own build. Gilanra, Caller of Wirewood looks good as ramp / draw candidate. I am also going to track down a Nature's Chosen . There are ton's of card in the deck that will benefit from both abilities. Kogla, the Titan Ape looks good too. Creature removal on ETB, de...
