Re: Grenzo, Dungeon Warden - The Slot Machine of Value

I think Ixalan got us quite a few interesting cards. Hoverstone Pilgrim and Threefold Thunderhulk have already been mentioned. I think anything that brings multiple extra bodies can be good, I'm interested in also trying Synapse Necromage . Greedy Freebooter gives us treasure and a scry on death, bo...

Re: Grenzo, Dungeon Warden - The Slot Machine of Value

I really like Desecrated Tomb. It gets you an extra body on flip and when you tuck. If they blow it up, better that then some of the other artifacts.

Primaris Eliminator seems pretty good as well.

Re: Grenzo, Dungeon Warden - The Slot Machine of Value

Bronze Walrus seems good. It's not a myr but the scry is strong. Treasure Keeper could also get us a utility artifact, I'm not super hyped about possible stacking the bottom with lands. Patron of the Arts gets you a free flip with a sac outlet, I'm not sure if that's enough incentive, but could be ...

Re: Grenzo, Dungeon Warden - The Slot Machine of Value

I'm poor, so I only have the one actual fetch. :) I have a couple of the Panorama's. I like them cause they make mama themselves.

Re: Grenzo, Dungeon Warden - The Slot Machine of Value

Is Summoner's Egg a good fit? I think Clone Shell is the superior version of this type of effect, as it allows you to rearrange your bottom of the deck and doesn't require you to have anything in hand. Currently my build is sitting at 6 creature-based free sac outlets, Ashnod's Altar , High Market ...

Re: Grenzo, Dungeon Warden - The Slot Machine of Value

Is Summoner's Egg a good fit? It can get a card out of your hand and is an artifact for things that care about it. While it only lets you get one card, it can be better than our other discard outlets since it goes into play.

Re: Grenzo, Dungeon Warden - The Slot Machine of Value

Necrotic Ooze does some heavy lifting, but if people are blowing up graveyards the power goes down a bit. The four power creature I had my eye on was Flayer of the Hatebound. It's gas with any hit and has a little bit of removal protection.

Re: Grenzo, Dungeon Warden - The Slot Machine of Value

The on attack seems annoying and the exile makes me nervous. You could always send the creature you bring back towards someone who will kill it with a block. That being said, with a sac outlet you can prevent the exile and Olivia, Mobilized for War can incidentally make your legendaries into Vampire...

@Arkren What do you think about Vengeful Strangler // Strangling Grasp? It can target planeswalkers, which could be interesting.

Re: Grenzo, Dungeon Warden - The Slot Machine of Value

@zKtu I also have Warteye Witch to let me scry. And I forgot Moggcatcher lets me put it in play, if it survives.

@XamIllustration Imperial Recruiter is on my wishlist and Deathbringer Thoctar combos really well with this deck.

Re: Grenzo, Dungeon Warden - The Slot Machine of Value

zKtu Grafdigger's Cage does shut us down. I run a more goblin heavy build so I get Tuktuk Scrapper and Goblin Trashmaster to take care of artifacts and Goblin Matron , Boggart Harbinger , Goblin Recruiter to tutor them up. XamIllustration I'm glad you did well! Did Syr Konrad, the Grim come up at a...

How do you guys feel about Fury? It doesn't go to face, but being able to divide the damage seems good.

Re: Grenzo, Dungeon Warden - The Slot Machine of Value

Keep in mind that Syr Konrad, the Grim has 5 power, so he is going to be hard to flip with Grenzo. Flayer of the Hatebound is a similar effect and is still pretty tough at 4 power.

Re: Grenzo, Dungeon Warden - The Slot Machine of Value

I was looking at a couple of more cards. Author of Shadows for some graveyard hate and maybe getting something good. And Madblind Mountain, for the cost of a flip you can shuffle, it could be good if you know you have a dead flip coming. The coming into play tapped is a little painful.

Re: Grenzo, Dungeon Warden - The Slot Machine of Value

That makes sense. My meta that I played in before was more casual and I'm leaning more towards a goblin build. I like that it triggers off of any creature dying and is reusable, but if you're trying to go off in one turn it becomes quite a bit worse.

Re: Grenzo, Dungeon Warden - The Slot Machine of Value

It seems like a pretty low-impact card to me. I've found that stacking the bottom of your deck can often backfire on you if you find out the top cards of your library were mostly lands/noncreature artifacts. This has happened to me more than once where I screwed myself over for the next few flips a...
