Re: [Official] Modern Prices Discussion
I honestly dont get why saga is the price it is atm. In traditional affinity it works kinda but not enough to really play, in post Signal Pest infinity it works kinda but causes mana issues there as well. I really can see it in titan amulet. Otherwise the verse 2 and three seem to be a waste unless...

Re: [Off-Topic] Community Chat Thread
Yeah poke bodies or poke powers/ailities are always either a active ability like on certain planeswalkers or they say once during such and such. Only occasionally will you get one that says end your turn after resolution which means you cannot attack but usually they are overpowered and on very spec...

About 34 it seems on amazon so retail could be 39 could be more. depends on where and how much they will gouge.plushpenguin wrote: ↑2 years agoIf these are $20 decks, they are putting some pretty good cards and effort into making them work for how much you pay.

Re: Unreleased and New Card Discussion
I like Robe of Stars and Mantle of the Ancients a lot. Fey Steed just feels like a Shapers' Sanctuary tacked onto a four mana 4/4 with a subpar combat trigger. Honestly its better than most since cc to body is at least equal. If they do target the thing, you at least +1 from it. I've seen green var...

Re: Unreleased and New Card Discussion
Really if it counted just creatures by itself it would have been ok (you cant play multiples so the +1 is not going to stack by itself), tac on the legendary for outside of standard and it works and since green cared more about the power of creatures would probably not infringe, and red cared for ho...

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - Dead Man's Chest
Thursday, July 8th, 2021; Dead Man's Chest Dead Man's Chest Why do more people not play this though... The variance in decks can be huge and a good spell for one unless its removal is a meh spell for others....unless your in a mirror match then its hopefully all gravy. Adding it to a huge creature ...

Re: Unreleased and New Card Discussion
Worth remembering that Circle would make the knight a 3/3, which is a fairly relevant size for a token. I think they also assumed that the "pump out a token for legends for free" ability would be more relevant in standard, where it was more clearly aimed. I would agree more if circle was ...

Re: Unreleased and New Card Discussion
Honestly if they had just double white pipped the token production on circle of loyalty it would have been equal to henge at least playability wise. Making you pay 4 for a 2/2 vigilance is just nuts since white can still have/create that as a basic creature still if they so choose. They just honestl...

@Simto Thanks.
With the mana base set with both / and / you can slide cranial plating using with spire of industry and glimmervoid at instant speed if they remove or block occasionally which is honestly another callback to the original affinity.

Motleyslayer that actually is something only found from the last 15+ years of magic in that they decided to branch out whites disenchant effect. Before it was very spotty and high CC stuff that green got and honestly nobody played it. The only time green got decent removal was when it got paired wi...

Re: [Deck] Affinity - Party like it's 2004!
Oh I never meant for Sphinx to replace either Thoughtcast or Monitor, but to be played alongside instead of Thrasta or some other finisher. Your quite right that the white pip will be kinda annoying but if you tune the land base using the u/w and a u/? artifact land as well as using spire or glimmer...

Re: Unreleased and New Card Discussion
senor goblin is so nice, a robust bit of Goblin utility rather than a multiplier or haster. might be underpowered compared to Goblin Chieftain, Krenko etc but just about every goblin is and I like that this new lord is more of a red permanent control linchpin than an instant win My big issue is tha...

Re: [Deck] Affinity - Party like it's 2004!
Honestly Id argue that Ethersworn Sphinx as a pair or trio is the better choice even if its slower overall. The flying and the cascade hit every target and getting either of the thoughts is pure advantage without having to get away much from the base blue you need for the thoughts anyway or the Emry...

Does Rakdos secretly have the most variety in its generals? Often we get combat-, discard-, or sacrifice-themed dudes, but even those offer a wide variety of strategies. WU: blink, control, flying UB: mill, saboteurs, graveyard-as-resource BR: SUFFERING RG: creatures, ramp, lands GW: tokens, enchan...

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - Blood on the Snow
Technically this isnt limited to mono color, you could play it decently in duo. Probably doable in triple if your using alot of basics but thats likely not happening. Overall killing superfriends or wrath + animate dead is pretty good even if its 6cc.

[Deck] Dragon Treasure
With the advent of the new artifact lands and the ability for treasure to ramp more consistently that it had been, and a complete accident on my part I realized something. Gadrak, the Crown-Scourge might actually be viable to play now. 3x Cavern of Souls 4x Darksteel Citadel 4x Drossforge Bridge 4x ...

I wonder how high the price of the monkey will climb before a way to deal with him is found.. or he might get banned. __________ @Albegas thanks for info. Have out A Lurrus on my scg shopping cart. Honestly if Gut Shot wasn't a thing Id be worried. As it stands I expect to see a price hike there.

Re: [Official] State of Modern Thread (B&R 07/13/2020)
I assume its a 4 off since you really want the engine to start early. Its cheap effective and if they somehow kill it you can just cast the next same turn or next turn. Its one of the few legendries that can get away with such quantities.
