Re: Commander February update
so basically the rc has hopefully finally figured out that getting players to talk things out is better than one arbitrary group strictly enforcing rules for a casual format? Neat.

Teaching threat assessment
So title pretty much says it all. What is the best way to teach threat assessment to newer players? My local meta is fairly powerful but we have newer players who have little to no concept of proper threat assessment and I'm trying to figure out a way to ease them into rather than just run them over...

Re: Giant Growth.dec?
it may not be in the colors wanted but Tanazir Quandrix might be worth checking out. I goldfished a deck idea with a bunch of tiny unblockable creatures and giant growth effects but never got around to building it

Re: Eye of Vecna
I use it in my Birgi, God of Storytelling // Harnfel, Horn of Bounty deck. Its jank artifact storm so i run every silly cantrip artifact i can find. Eye of Vecna giving an optional upkeep draw is just a bit of gravy

Re: Most time consuming spells to resolve in the format?
i had a jhoira deck for a short while. paradoxical outcome can make for a super long turn if you dont draw a win con plus all of the sequencing after you resolve it

Re: Recent Game Knights Episode (spoilers) and Commander Play Styles
i honestly have a hard time watching game knights anymore. you pretty much know is gonna win within the first 10 minutes of a game, josh is just getting worse and worse with his attitude, and vedalken orrery butt kissing just gets boring after a while.

Re: Navigating players' pet peeves...
i have one guy in my group who gets salty about clone effects. this mainly came up when i was playing Riku of Two Reflections and he was playing Ghired, Conclave Exile . i played Progenitor Mimic and copied his commander so i could populate my clones. long story short having one Protean Hulk is ok. ...

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - Sever the Bloodline
Bile Blight or Echoing Decay seem like they would be better options for wiping out tokens. sever seems a bit slow

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - The Khans Block Sieges
Outpost Siege is great in my Krenko, Mob Boss deck. It acts as a source of card advantage when i need it too or it can be a combo finisher.

Re: Dismantling Wave vs. Nature’s Claim
i think it really depends on your meta and whats in your deck. you probably dont wanna be forced to cycle dismantling wave to deal with someone else's artifacts if you have an enchantress deck for example. i personally prefer Krosan Grip since it cant be responed to. but out of the two you listed i ...

Re: Is Double Masters spicy enough for you to buy some boosters?
Double masters is extremely high variance. iv'e bought 4 of the $40 3 pack draft packs they sell at walmart. i bought them two at a time. the first two gave me a HUGE return. Imperial recruiter, stoneforge mystic, cylconic rift, sword of fire and ice, and Mana Crypt. The second two packs i bought di...

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - The Theros Gods
Just be mindful of matchups. if you have a Firesong and Sunspeaker player in your pod you WILL be barbecued. I know from experience playing Erebos. Any lifegain based deck will immediately peg you as the archenemy

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - The Theros Gods
Purphoros is by far and away the easiest to use its a very "oops i win type of card". It generally just ends the game if i play it in my Krenko, Mob Boss deck. I used to run Erebos as the general of my mono black deck but i have since relegated it to the 99 instead. Thassa is a fine value ...

Krenko, Mob Boss- Combo Goblins
This is the deck that started it all for me. Goblins originally got me into magic back in high school(Onslaught block) so when i got into commander years later it only made sense that i started with my little red friends. This list is more aggro/combo than strictly combo but it serves fairly decentl...
