Re: Expropriate
I think commander is such a social format that my answer is.... depends on the social aspect. If I'm playing where I ussually play, at the tables I usually do, we don't run much extra turns, its unfun to be on the other end of multiple, I run one in one deck. Savor the Moment in my cantrip deck that...

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - Aven Mindcensor
I love taxes in modern. I got a Thalia, Guardian of Thraben with a fancy art and all that. I toyed arround with building her and taxes for a bunch but I never even got it to sleeve anything. At first I assumed I would be hated out, but as a ocasional deck isnt that big of a deal, but I don't know ho...

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - Chromatic Lantern
Its not an auto inclusion for me but its a rock I happily run in 2 decks. I feel like the filtering justifies the 1 more I pay. Not only it fixes, it turns on utility lands That said, its in 18% of decks according to EDH rec. Its crazy high imho considering how many 1 color/ heavily 1 color decks th...

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - Huntmaster of the Fells
That said, I do occasionally think about doing a werewolf tribal deck. I know it'd be terrible, but something draws me to it anyway. Maybe if I go heavy instants and flash... (Sidebar, but I think people give ulrich too much flak for being a non-tribal werewolf commander. He benefits from the same ...

Re: Budget Builds and the Fun That Comes With Them
Yeah, I build mostly on a budget and it's really funny what cards you get attached to. Even though I build on a budget I have a large enough previous collection that I'll run some cards that "break the budget" because I had them arround. I have this Chulane deck that plays most of the mana...

Re: Is Double Masters spicy enough for you to buy some boosters?
I usually get "draft packs" I used to play this game where id build my deck something I pulled. Now I crack packs whenever they are on a big sale or I dont want change and a pack is arround the price. Im not into Premium packs, just get the singles I want and move on

How do you approach deck building?
I have two fat packs with "work in progress" decks, and when I mentioned this to a friend he was weirded our and wanted to know more. Then we got into the subject of how we build our decks. He builds a list he likes, checking cool ideias from edhrec buys the majority of the cards and upgra...

Re: Thassa's Oracle / Jace, Wielder of Mysteries
I understand you said cEDH isnt where thi is come from but I cannot help but think it would be another instance of EDH paying for cEDH sins. if you don't run them as a combo wincon/entire focus they are fair and hard to win with, right? Yeah, I dislike sitting at a table and them losing on turn 4 ou...

Re: Gadrak in the 99
I got one in a pack and I think I'll try in Alesha, Who Smiles at Death aristocrats build. I think the card its probably better suited to be played in Mardu aristocrats builds. Controling the sac side of the deal means you get a say in the deaths, its extra value and all that. I think I'll slot most...

Re: Playing commanders that have aged badly
My favorite commander deck is Jori En, Ruin Diver I think it wasnt a powerfull commander ever, Ikoria has a second spell theme, it would be an okay card in that scenario. That being said I have a bunch of fun with it, and thats what matters the most. Without changing a single card I could make The S...

Re: Jori En - Izzet Cantrips
Congrats on the kid! Hope you are all well! Yeah, I havent touched the deck in a while either. I wanna try webcam stuff but I'm not there yet. I just have a bunch of time so I keep thinking about it. Actually I might have a couple decks more by the time quarentine ends. Which seems far where I am fr...

Re: Jori En - Izzet Cantrips
Hey there! I'm new to nexus but have been playing Jori En for a good while. I'm excited about some new cards. I posted this in a different forum but this seems like the spoto to be here now! Some new cards might be playable here. See the truth at worse is a sorcery time Antecipation, at best is a dr...
