The main thing holding this guy back is his inability to shoot at anything but the dome. If he could be a nigh-unkillable source of crearute removal, then he'd have a lot more utility

I kinda like cards that Incentivize playing fewer colors, but this one is too easy to play around to be all that effective.

This card is and always has been sweet. Its competitive glory days are long gone, but not a shred of coolness has been lost to time.

This card kills you if someone else has a Smothering Tithe. That is one hell of a format-specific drawback.

In a world where Gisa, Glorious Resurrector does all the same things but for free, I can't imagine ever playing this card outside of a thematic dedication to Snow.

Damn this is expensive. You can outright steal things for less mana and no life with a swath of cards. If you replaced Casualty with Retrace and cut the CMC in half, maybe this would have some legs, but the era of random 6 mana "value" plays is long gone.

The Acolyte is solid. It's a touch slower than Skyshroud Claim but the explosive mana generation it provides make it a solid role-player in green-centric ramp decks. It also feeds itself in a way, giving you the mana to build a board to make even more mana. I dig it.
