Re: Dragon...tech? Wait, wut?
Okay, another try at this to improve mana fixing, lessen slow lands, and lower the dragon curve significantly. Blasphemous Act is in place of Tiamat in case I have the wrathful red dragon in play as a finisher. I'll get that more often than casting Tiamat. Dungeons and Dragons Sorceries 1 Blasphemou...

[SCD] Koma, Cosmos Serpent
How warping is too warping? My regular group is very casual. You can still run Zurgo Helmsmasher or a non-competitive Prime Speaker Zegana simic deck and be fine, most of the time. So, my friend's son recently released Koma, Cosmos Serpent , and it's a highly-supported 99, so Koma is annoyingly hard...

Fair, but that just means your group is more competitive than mine.

Re: Big Timmy Style: Xenagos, God of Elementary Mathematics
Xenagos + Malignus + OG Nylea + Defense of the Heart = alpha strike from hell. You have Xenagos, so search the other two. I used that recently, hit a friend for 44 trample. Next turn hit the next friend for 37, and then the following turn the next friend for 56. Stupid levels of stoopid. Savi...

Slavish Devotion (not a Depeche Mode song)
Vorthos as a player type is hard. All these Timmies running around with BFGs, Spikes using railguns to 1-shot-kill you...and all you want to do is kill one person, just one, in a bunny suit, because there's a story to that. What's a devoted Vorthos to do? Ever been there? I try to avoid it, but I do...

When Archetype Went "Right", I Went Wrong Intentionally
I like sticking to archetypes for most decks. It gives you a lot of resources to make a deck and have fun. But sometimes... SOMETIMES I don't. Take this idea here. Blue is good at patient draw-go, counters, permission, you get the idea. Normally, blue doesn't go all-aggro with nary a counter in the ...

Heh, like any "can't miss" engine, the Scrying Sheets misses more than I like to admit, but when it works, it's a thing of beauty.

Re: Hazezon Tamar - Defenders of Dune
While a sandwurm about to eat the Baron Harkonnen (Kenneth McMillan) from the David Lynch movie on a card would bring me no amount of endless joy, my real life is so stupid right now, I'm going to stick a pin in that offer. A friend has done something similar, though. That film had such an iconic lo...

Re: Chun-Li: Senretsukyaku Spellslinger
How has this played for you in games so far? I don't have much to add personally, as I'm not the most tuned in Commander pilot, and my group has largely moved on from voltron decks. I do, however, find the deck theme entertaining. I played a lot of Street Fighter 2 back in the day. Do you run into p...

Re: Help Wanted - Karlach, the Inspiring
What's your budget? Do you have these cards already? I can make suggestions but some more info would help :+1: Oh, forgot to answer this question. Not looking more than about $300 total landed costs, so Serra's Sanctum is automatically out. Lol. And I do have some, but a lot of it I do not o...

Re: Help Wanted - Karlach, the Inspiring
First off to everyone who responded, thank you. I have some reactions, though there is far too much to cover in one response, and I'll be thinking a lot about the advice. I appreciate the time you took. The average cost of your cards is about 4 mana, which means that until you get 8 mana sources you...

Help Wanted - Karlach, the Inspiring
I like that I got a lot of good card suggestions for a Boros token matters deck featuring Karlach, Fury of Avernus and Inspiring Leader . The idea is to build my board, and then nuke theirs while I keep mine. The problem is that I literally have an extra 50 cards to trim to get to a final, testable ...

Re: Well @#$%, That Didn't Work...
Another one of my decks is actually Modern legal. It involves using 3 mv transmute cards to get Thraben Doomsayer and Intruder Alarm . That one probably sounds unfun too. Another of my decks might look a little more fun. It's the one where the goal is to enchant Serra Avatar with Armadillo Cloak . ...

Re: Creatures-Only Club
Here is my all-creature elemental deck, and it is one of my two-favorite decks. I posted this in the rainbow topic, but it's also all-creature, so it fits in both. It's been nicknamed by a friend as "the machine", which cracks me up. It is all-creatures and goes all-in for creature synergy...

Here is my all-creature elemental deck. It is all-creatures and goes all-in for creature synergy. Lorwyn elementals were just, in a word, stupid. Which makes for a great tribal deck. The Banneret gets the Smokebraider more often than any other card. The Thunderkin Awakener , along with the Re...

Re: Creatures-Only Club
My Tyranid deck has all creatures except for Hardened Scales. Does that count? Haha, that's kinda like my treefolk deck. Close counts. Funny fact: I named the deck "Isengard's Bane", way back at Lorwyn, long before a LotR deck was even an idea. And the mono-green portions of that Lorwyn s...

Re: rate commanders you've played for physical complication
I was going to suggest Xenagos, God of Revels, but Pokken already suggested. U/G shenangans in the 99 are easy with Prime Speaker Zegana. Just cast and draw a bunch. By the time she's dead, you've probably dropped two more lands for the next tax payment.

Poll - How Often do You Multiplayer (MP) casual?
I like multiplayer casual games. Star with killing the two opposite from you, Kill the person to your left and right, Free-for-All, Free-for-All Highlife, 2-Headed Giant, Emperor's (homebrewed variant), etc. Early days of Magic: The Gathering in stores often ended up in 6-10 players rather than a bu...
