Re: Well...That Sucks
Yup, super fun card, that I'm sure my friend mightily regrets ever showing me. I'da found it eventually, though.

Re: Mayael the Anima - Of Gods and Monsters
Not sure why you'd play either of those? There are better boardwipes like Blasphemous Act , and I'd suggest to use creatures that double power and/or damage so Mayael can put them on the battlefield. Yeah, sometimes I think silly stuff. :smirk: Not to worry, though, I decided to put all three DBFs ...

Re: Yes, Say it With Me...Life Matters
If I was going to go for life total wins, I'd put in Ghostly Prison effects and shift everything. Instead, I'm using lifegain to create space to outpace my losses to swing aggro and pump my side with counters.

I get the idea, but six just to get it out…eep. Not sure I'd get much value since the energy is for the siphoner or harvester or machinations.

Haven't played enough to answer that, though I have the same query pending myself.

Re: Well...That Sucks
I use Torment of Hailfire extensively. Here, the life gain is kind of the deal to play off of Sanguine Blood. Really, nothing against the suggestion at all, totally solid. I already have 3 decks with it in there.

Haha, nice! I probably did not consider it due to the blue mana. Great mechanics, too.

Feedback Requested - All I Do is Win, Win, Win!
I've been known to make silly themes, and one idea I had years ago has kept me laughing since not long after Kaladesh came out. I have envisioned a Gonti deck straight out of a hip hop video playing "All I Do Is Win, Win, Win" while he's riding around in his Ghirapur vehicle with a honey i...

Dragon...tech? Wait, wut?
I hate dragon decks in general. At least, my friend's dragon decks...overall I think they are fine. Tiamat is one, seriously powerful commander in edh, as the D&D dragon goddess should be, but that gets pretty degenerate. However, I didn't want to copy what my friend had, so I took Tiamat's chil...

I have many black decks. I love black, and most of the decks have wincons using serious life drain. Two use Gary devotion kill, one uses Pontiff of Blight , one uses Kokopuffs , one uses Gonti's Machinations , so yeah, I love draining. But one deck I've been mulling for years is a B/G Elfball deck. ...

Yes, Say it With Me...Life Matters
Life has been maligned as an unnecessary annoyance by so many spike players over the years, I wish I got paid a buck everytime I heard it. It's almost like it's a resource you should feel dirty about using. I remember for years that red burn and Necropotence players have said "the only importan...

Biiiiig Mana!!!
I like big mana, and I cannot lie I don't need no colors, to make you fry Why take a five when you can have a twenty Go without color in the lands of plenty... ...Mana. Got. Back. Apologies to Sir Manalot, but the idea of big mana is for me something I have dabbled in over the years. Whether the loc...

Re: CRAB BATTLE, AAAAUGH
Haha, keep with this, and you'll turn this sucker into the bane of all players (all at once!) My friend has kept a mill deck now for something like ten years. He's slowly mod'd it from a 1v1 mill that he would stupidly use to try and mill me in a FFA, rarely worked. Now, with many of the same cards ...

Re: Casual-60 Tyranids?!?
What I don't immediately see is answers to tax effects, or other soft hosers, or artifact/enchantment heavy decks that can tie you down. Okay, admittedly, bad party foul for quoting myself, but I wonder if this acts a lot like a x-hydra deck that will struggle to generate value against more-aggress...

Re: Casual-60 Tyranids?!?
Haha, this looks silly and stupidly fun but super-aggressive. I use the Termagant Swarm now in my Sliver Queen token matters edh, and I use Screamer-Killer in another edh, but never really looked at Tyranids as a tribe deck. I assume that Hardened Scales counts toward the ravenous trigger, yes? I mi...

Re: Poison Sure Has Come a Long Way
You know, blue/green has so much proliferation, I use it now in my Prime Speaker Zegana edh along with graft creatures, but I'd never actually considered U/G poison. How does that work as a basic deck-shell, exactly? Is it a grindy-proliferate, or an explosive infect-in-your-face approach like I hav...

Re: Sometimes...Greed Isn't Good, It's GREAT!!!
That's the great thing about the decklist tag on this site. Hit the draw 7 option, and top deck to see how this thing can play for ten turns. The most recent game with The Mummy was a star game, and was turn 2 Bloodghast , turn 3 Nest of Scarabs , turn 4 Skinrender for three bugs, turn 5 Black Sun's...

Re: "But, But, I Like Cheeseballs..."
You bring up a great point about rough decks at a casual table. My group has spanned for three decades and a second generation. We've had a weird mix of dirt-poor players that barely have three functional decks, (which means we see the same ones all the time), and other folks that have as many as 50...

Re: Bend, but Don't Break
I personally often go all-in on my archetypes for the sake of efficiency, but I have been known to include pet cards (i.e. Bounty of the Luxa ) for the sake of augmenting an already-existing gameplan until I find I can no longer keep those cards in for the sake of furthering the gameplan. Haha, I d...

Re: Swiss Army Knife decks - do you have one?
Given the theme and color limitations, of course, I try to make my decks as toolbox as possible. Nothing aggravates me more than losing to something I didn't have an answer to. I can accept I won't have an answer to everything, and am okay losing when I had it, but just didn't draw it. Now, some dec...

Good deal, I'll take a look at Hobo. Thanks for responding, I do want to revive some casual activity here as it's the bread and butter of my last 30 years playing this silly game.

none since battle for baldur's gate! i get supporting the local outlets but I honestly think wotc/hasbro are too shady to reward rn also i really enjoyed opening a whole box of ZNR cos the set boosters were exciting to open, but looking back on it I hardly got any black cards and it still puzzles m...

Poison Sure Has Come a Long Way
It all started back in Legends with the humble Pit Scorpion and Serpent Generator . Poison as a wincon was not only janky and improbable, it was only pursued by people in stores that wanted to make you look bad by beating you with it. Then, Mirrodin block happened. Infect and Proliferate took poison...
