Child of Alara - Dreamcrusher [Pauper]

So this deck is not my original idea or list, it originated on Salvation many years ago when someone decided to make a commander deck out of all commons, aside from the commander. I've always respected that list and thread and the dedication of the people playing and working on it. While browsing fo...

Re: What are your favourite mono-white and mono-blue generals?

Every now and then I get the urge to (re)build Barrin, Master Wizard . Barrin gives you repeatable answer to creatures from your command zone, which is actually quite strong. I usually end up going a bit to heavy on the sacrifice value plan but he is a really solid commander without having a ton of ...

Re: Does anyone play Arena? MTGO?

Fair enough, I'll try some more interactive decks and see how they feel. I'm a fairly fast player though and also very much used to the MTGO interface. Not all of my friends are and some online opponents aren't either. That can just be frustrating. I do love how MTGO let's me play cards that I other...

Re: Does anyone play Arena? MTGO?

Sure, I know those shortcuts. But there are so many opponents that don't and it makes games feel glacially slow. Also if you have responses it's better not to auto yield to a lot of things, so I often just end up playing sorcery speed decks. That said, given this whole corona situation, MTGO might b...

Re: Does anyone play Arena? MTGO?

For those playing on MTGO. Do you make any card or deck decision because you are playing on MTGO? Even though I so far only play with friends while on a discord channel, I still mostly play sorcery speed decks (maelstrom wanderer for example). Just because keeping mana up and responding is such a pa...

Re: Ayula, Queen Among Bears (minus the bears) [brainstorming]

I don't think it really matters that there aren't to many more enchantress type effects. Don't think you really need more as all but 1 are creatures and should be easily tutor able in green. The more important question is how many enchantments are worth running besides the bear producers. Dredge/gra...

Re: Niv-Mizzet Reborn - Astral-Living-Genesis

Expansion can also just nab an early game ramp or draw spell if needed. Or double up on someone else's removal etc.

As for golgari, wouldn't Vraska and or Pernicious deed be decent options? Not that I think you really need to max on guild distribution.

Re: Niv-Mizzet Reborn - Astral-Living-Genesis

Actually, I might have a suggestion. Didn't see it mentioned but have you ever tried Expansion // Explosion as a 2 man counter against counterspells? Or are counterspells not a big issue?

Re: Sasaya, Forest Squared

Hermit Druid is a really solid card, I am just worried that he has such a large profile and lacks haste. I prefer Thaumatic Compass effects because I can activate them immediately. The 1 mana land tutors are a little meh. I think the artifacts that have the effect are better. They are pricier as th...

Re: Ayula, Queen Among Bears (minus the bears) [brainstorming]

The dredge route makes a lot of sense. Many of the cards that dig for enchantments in green also self mill. Rofellos's gift is a great way to recur your enchantments. If you dredge hard enough any recursion spell will get closer and closer to being a demonic tutor. You could potentially also pair th...

Re: Niv-Mizzet Reborn - Astral-Living-Genesis

Nothing much to add except that I think this deck is work of art and you should be immensely proud of it. It's just cleverly put together and unique like no other commander deck I have seen before.

I'm also extremely jealous I have never thought of something like this myself :)

Re: Sasaya, Forest Squared

I'm also thinking about building a Sasaya deck. Mine will be much more budget though as I see it as just a fun deck to pull out once in a while. So no oracle for me. As such my deck will not be focusing on the top of the deck as much. My big problem has been in goldfishing to have enough action once...

Re: Golos Eldrazi

Yeah I missed new Emmy! As for the budget, I definitely can't afford to upgrade the mana base. The rest of the deck, I don't know yet since I haven't played with it yet. It's in the theory stage yet and I don't expect it to be high powered. So I wouldn't give more than 20 usd per card (?) I'm not s...

Re: Golos Eldrazi

Have you considered running Emrakul, the promised end , another big fatty that comes with a strong trigger. Kiora could also fit with your theme of cards that care about having 4 power and helps ramp by untapping your eldrazi land. Not sure what the budget is for your list? There are a ton more sugg...

Re: "Quirks That Define Your EDH Style"

I like winning but the most important thing for me is having stuff to do during a game. I'd also rather do lots of small things than a couple of big haymakers. As such my decks tend to have a lot of small interactions and moving parts. Doing lots of things usually also requires a lot of mana so I te...

Re: Gallia, of the Endless Danc ... Dredge

I threw together a Gallia list last week and have been enjoying it. Thread is here: https://www.mtgnexus.com/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=23889 I took a somewhat similar route, focusing on getting value from the discard and grave. It's definitely a little different, but I'll give you some info I've gle...

Gallia, of the Endless Danc ... Dredge

https://i.imgur.com/Qt0oLdY.jpg Introduction Some years back there was a thread on the Salvation board for an Edric Dredge build, using Edric's draw power to turbo dredge through the deck. I love the graveyard and dredge so I've always somewhat admired that build as it was cool to see a new strateg...
