Re: Zedruu the Greatest of All Time
Always a pleasure getting a rundown of your current list. Due to the nature of how Zedruu is built, making changes is always more of "which flavour of combo" rather than "best available combo". This thread is always a goldmine full of ideas. The counters matters package a while b...

Re: Zedruu the Greatest of All Time
Alright brain trust, I need a sanity check. Does this go infinite: The Locust God + Taii Wakeen, Perfect Shot + Outpost Siege I'm fairly confident Pandemonium is getting replaced long term, which opens up a lot of cards I've never been allowed to play because of Pandemonium + Swans of Bryn Argoll ,...

Re: Zedruu the Greatest of All Time
Have a rules and interactions question for the folks here. Assuming I control a Mirage Mirror , Restless Spire and some enchantment. What would be the end result of activating the abilities in this way: (Top of stack, resolves first) - (Mirage Mirror ability targeting Restless Spire) - (Mirage Mirro...

Re: Zedruu the Greatest of All Time
Think Struggle for Project Purity will be replacing Font of Mythos? Also Ajani, Nacatl Pariah // Ajani, Nacatl Avenger looks like another easy way of flipping Azor's Gateway // Sanctum of the Sun with Saheeli, Sublime Artificer.

Re: Zedruu the Greatest of All Time
The most Zedruu-y cards in green and black I think are Recycle and Null Profusion . Wanna shoutout my boy Infernal Sovereign as well. Mirrorweave him and you'll start melting. Oh that's a spicy one - thanks, was also unaware this existed! Seems like exactly the right kind of dangerous this kind of ...

Re: Zedruu the Greatest of All Time
On the topic of lands, how has Magosi, the Waterveil been performing for y'all? Does the edge case of extra turn shenanigans justify playing a tapped island?

Re: Zedruu the Greatest of All Time
In other news, this is how my list looks for now. It's always a pleasure to peruse through other peoples lists. Land Tax and Bucknard's Everfull Purse in particular interest me. I wonder if I can get away with cutting a land for land tax, but maybe thats being too greedy. Btw, since I talked about ...

Re: Zedruu the Greatest of All Time
Your new list is looking good. I have only had a handful of games with Pendant of Prosperity , but it did not impress me. I suspect that it may be a playgroup thing, but usually the pendant just came in and did nothing but act as Zedruu fodder. It also did not have the disruption factor that Vedalke...

Re: Zedruu the Greatest of All Time
The trick that keeps you from free-casting any number of spells that hit your graveyard this turn is that Reenact the Crime casts a copy of the card, and a copy of a card is not itself a card, and Eye of the Storm only triggers when you cast an instant or sorcery card, so the reenacted spell wont t...

Re: Zedruu the Greatest of All Time
Reenact the Crime + Pull from Eternity allows you to do some fun stuff as well. its not quite infinite with Eye of the Storm , unless there's a 4-5 card combo that can make it work. Assuming an Eye of the Storm with a Reenact the Crime and Pull from Eternity already exiled with it. Cast Instant/Sor...

Re: Zedruu the Greatest of All Time
Is there any way the new disguise mechanic has an abusable interaction with transform cards, can we turbo flip Azor's Gateway // Sanctum of the Sun somehow? From the official magic judge rules blog back in 2011: "Flipping cards over is not a new thing in Magic–the morph mechanic has been aroun...

Re: Zedruu the Greatest of All Time
It requires a Martyrdom effect (either from that card or an En-Kor creature), Phyrexian Vindicator , Equal Treatment and somehing to deal at least 1 dmg for the combo to start. Man, those are some cards huh, thank you for bringing them to my attention as I'm confidant I would have gone my life with...

Re: Zedruu the Greatest of All Time
as long as I don't run into a way to 3-card combo with it. I really don't want to be a party pooper, but I have recently encountered a 3-card with Cadric, Soul Kindler , Sakashima the Impostor copying cadric and Ioreth of the Healing House . 3 hasty Ioreths for 13 mana. I'll probably just accept th...

Re: Zedruu the Greatest of All Time
Ah, I see; that makes sense. And so Restless Anchorage and Restless Spire , being the blue-producing targets, are desirable. Is there a link to your list buried in the tread, too? I haven't posted my list here before, here ya go https://www.moxfield.com/decks/3NI4LEO_O0KhlB_gx3WOdg I argue that the...

Re: Zedruu the Greatest of All Time
I love this thread, and I love this deck. Thank you Tstorm and everyone else who has contributed. (I'd love to see your current list, Sefir.) I have been playing a Maze's End deck as a combo/alt wincon deck for a while (https://www.moxfield.com/decks/tsD8auz680u48LR64rio7A), and I had been trying t...

Re: Zedruu the Greatest of All Time
I asked 2 different judges and both of them told me that it works. "You control both triggers, and since they're both waiting to go on the stack, you choose the order they're put on the stack" was the final answer. And they seemed to be pretty annoyed that I asked them more than once........

Re: Zedruu the Greatest of All Time
It's probably worth somebody compiling and posting about all the possible flash enablers. I'll start with all the ones I've seen people mention: Permanents Leyline of Anticipation * Vedalken Orrery * Tidal Barracuda * Raff Capashen, Ship's Mage Heliod, the Radiant Dawn // Heliod, the Warped Eclipse...

Re: Zedruu the Greatest of All Time
I have personally semi-abandoned the no-tutor clause in the deck since I have tried Oath of Lieges (a wonderful gift that allows everyone on the table to play, thus improving gameplay experience. A pet card of mine) in the past and nowdays I run Land Tax . But, honestly, the Puzzlebox tutor will ha...

Re: Zedruu the Greatest of All Time
There's also a 3 card loop with Shabraz, the Skyshark , All Will Be One , and Swans of Bryn Argoll to get as many draw cards (and life) as you want until you find a win condition to make it 4+ cards. Not only drawing your entire deck is rightly considered a 3-card winning combo, but also this wont ...

Re: Zedruu the Greatest of All Time
I'll have to think about drogskol reaver and Aetherflux Reservoir . They are both very good cards, but I'm not sure if slotting them would help the deck more because i would probably lose other combos / synergies from cards I would have to take out. It's a hard balance. Rise and Shine seems really ...

Re: Zedruu the Greatest of All Time
Thanks for the response. I took what you said and started doing some brainstorming. With the print of Quintorious Kand, it makes pulling knowledge pool out even harder, So i might keep it in. I agree that pulling pandemonium for all will be one is the better move. I was considering putting in the f...

Re: Zedruu the Greatest of All Time
Don't know how closely you're watching, but the current spoilers have some interesting cards. Some opportunities (at least for me) for some more Saheeli turbo-flip cheese, spells cast from all over the place, and a big dumb elephant. Hello tstorm, long time lurker. The more I've been thinking about...
