Re: Removal and Restrictions: An Analysis
Are you guys really running conditional removal? I would never and have never run anything like Victim of Night or any of that stuff. Just always feel like there're better options to me, even in mono colored I'd rather jam a Duplicant and take a risk than run Dismember . Even in mono red, probably ...

Re: Removal and Restrictions: An Analysis
First, thanks for compiling this! I know some people will do various methods (I really like the theory of 8x8 etc.) but so few people even think about interaction. I typically do the 2-5 board wipes, and 5-10 spot removal. I do try to have at least a few on theme ( Lignify in Doran, the Siege Tower ...

Re: Secret Lair
Is this useful? I kinda feel like the people that care already know and the people that don't (5 basic lands for $30?!?!??!) this is just spam. /shrug I hadn't heard, but care to hear about them, though the newest one doesn't appeal to me. I think you bumped the thread? Okay, I will keep it updated...

Re: Lutri, the Spellchaser Preemptively Banned
I don't understand why they bother with stuff like Lutri and the Y-guy--it's not like they add anything at all to standard since no one plays 80 card decks in modern/pioneer/etc. Feels like they could be designed for both commander and casual, instead of basically being nothings. Nobody is gonna pl...

Re: Lutri, the Spellchaser Preemptively Banned
I have been debating on adding Lurrus of the Dream Den to my Karador, Ghost Chieftain deck without modifications vs. either modifying it or building another one using Lurrus as companion. I think adding it would be good as I sometimes want to play Sun Titan and Sakura-Tribe Elder from my graveyard ...

I am really excited about the Partners. I am really hoping to get a new Planeswalker as Commander card or two.

Re: Lutri, the Spellchaser Preemptively Banned
Gavin Duggan is a Data Science Software Engineer (as far as I remember no direct ties to WotC, but I kinda remember him being a high level judge?) Yes, he's a level 3 judge and Sheldon Menery was as far as I know the only level 5 Judge, :( member of the Hall of Fame Only in our hearts. These people...

Re: Lutri, the Spellchaser Preemptively Banned
So, I am sure some know this but the RC have very close ties to WotC. Scott Larabee literally works for WotC as Tabletop Operations Manager. Toby Elliott writes the rules for tournaments. Gavin Duggan is a Data Science Software Engineer (as far as I remember no direct ties to WotC, but I kinda remem...

Re: I want to stream from modo onto twitch. what do I need?
Hearing I'm going to have issues because my upload speed is 1mbps. How accurate is this? So I tested mine, I have what my internet provider deems "basic" and I have 41.9 Mbps and had no issues. Not sure where the line is, but 1 Mbps does seem kinda low. I know a few years ago I had around...

Re: I want to stream from modo onto twitch. what do I need?
I have used OBS a few times for Arena, but for MTGO you have to do a screen capture. I highly recommend using 2 screens for that reason. Other than that it is pretty easy to do.

Re: Erebos, Bleak-Hearted, jumping up to 100 cards
Necropotence is a great source of draw and devotion. Grave Pact is great multiplayer removal and also helps your devotion. Dictate of Erebos is great too. Yeah, Necropotence is definitely going in, I don't really want to go the Grave Pact etc. route. I have had a Savra, Queen of the Golgari deck in...

Erebos, Bleak-Hearted, jumping up to 100 cards
I have really enjoyed playing brawl with the new Erebos. I am tempted to make a paper version for EDH. The things that I like is that I can often get "under" peoples defenses. Part of that is I have a fair amount of small, deathtouch creatures. I also have some "bleeders" that ch...

Re: Does anyone play Arena? MTGO?
If you want to rent cards I would recommend https://www.manatraders.com/subscriptions , but you can build a decent deck online for like 5-10 tix ($5-10). Even if you want to play around with what would normally be a crazy expensive deck in paper, it would be way less. For example I have a Dakkon Bla...

Re: Let's rank ALL the fixing lands
I really like your list, one factor that is very hard to overcome is the person that has lots of decks. I find that some of my decks do have Fetches/ABU/Shocks and some run Refuges/Gates. So having affordable options for your decks that are being built with the flavor of the week is nice. I actually...

Re: Unique Partner pairs
I run a cleric tribal deck with Tymna the weaver and Ravos, soultender . I've never seen anyone else run it. It has no infinite combos or MLD, but it has great card advantage and tutoring but it always seems like it needs more mana, unless I get crazy value off of Smothering tithe , or if turn 1 I ...

Dakkon Blackblade - Master of the Forge
https://mtg.gamepedia.com/Dakkon_Blackblade So before I knew his story, I loved the artwork and as an Esper Mage that likes to close the door quickly he really appealed to me. Yes I know if he were printed today he would likely be G/x or something like that but I don't care. I want to get him down ...

Re: First, Hit Your Land Drops (draft essay)
So I rebuilt a deck that I had from memory (curse not having access to the forums on the official site!) and then I started tweaking it. I ended up with 39 lands and 8 artifact ramp spells. Now I know that sounds like a lot, and it probably is too many, but I would rather flood than get mana screwe...

Re: Does anyone play Arena? MTGO?
I play on both, but MTGO has a really outdated interface and in general costs more than Arena. I have spent money on Arena, but it usually f2p and I can get what I need to Brawl, which is the main thing I do there. I would recommend muting people on Arena otherwise they just spam emotes incessently....

Re: Akiri & Thrasios MTGO
yeah, I was on the fence with Catastrophe but I didn't want to spend more than $20, and that was the last cut to get it below the price point. It is only about $0.39 so hopefully I can grab it from a trader soon. I did add some additional lands as I think 32 was to few. Chrome Mox is around $2.50-4 ...
