Re: Grothama, All-Devouring - The Maw of Oblivion

So how do the discard animals work for you (Wild Mongrel and Noose Constrictor)? I they can frow to enourmous sizes, but only after we killed Grothama.

Re: Unreleased and New Card Discussion

Oh the Surveil lands are fantastic for Lord Windgrace ! Time to swap out the bicycles. Why the hell is Crime Novelist missing the once-per-turn clause, while Homicide Investigator gets one!? Warleader's Call is probably bonkers in Jinnie Fay, Jetmir's Second alongside Purphoros, God of the Forge .

Re: Braids' Nightmares

Im still putting my list together, early in the year its hard to justify buying cards. But I keep thinking about Braids and the more I do, the more I like the idea of Cursed Totem Sounds neat, but is probably a meta call. Does your playgroup play a lot of mana dorks or commander's with activated ab...

Re: Tiny Leaders Duel Decks - Match I: Kumena vs Grenzo

:) It's ready! Now I need to find an unassuming opponent to show them the old beauty of Duel Decks! I'm planning on writing a small strategy guide and add the corresponding tokens so that it feels even more like a true Duel Deck. And so that it can function as a self-contained boardgame-like experie...

Re: Selvala, Explorer Returned - Into the Wild Unknown

This happened: I needed to find an artifact removal, but only hat Green Sun's Zenith in my hand. While searching my library I realised that I don't play any green targets (except Bane of Progress )... Oh well... I might need Reclamation Sage or Green Slime ... Made another fatal misplay, when I acti...

Re: [Off-Topic] Community Chat Thread

My fiancée is really into a show called Yellowjackets and I just started and its pretty fun so far, but I feel so old and dumb, there is more than 1 timeline and they talk about the people in first name basis so I had to pull up a notebook and write names and characteristics down like an old person...

Re: Grothama, All-Devouring - The Maw of Oblivion

Okay, first, Primalcrux ? Absolutely love it. It hasn't really had a home in a while but this is actually a solid Devotion shell, so I can see it being huge. Love to hear how it plays out. Up The Beanstalk , also seems like a great card. I mean, it just ate a Modern ban, so it's gotta be at least m...

Re: Grothama, All-Devouring - The Maw of Oblivion

This is the list I came up with. Atm I'm not playing any mass removal. Feels a bit wrong. Some of the Sluggers are old favourites I wanted to find a home for for years, so here we go! What do you think? [COMMANDER] 1 Grothama, All-Devouring [PLANESWALKERS] 1 Garruk, Primal Hunter [CREATURES] 1 Defil...

Re: Grothama, All-Devouring - The Maw of Oblivion

Yep, your Grothama looks like a fun alternative to the usual mono green goodstuff lists. Are you running Kozilek just as a budget card or is it because of the discussion we had a few weeks back? If it's because of our discussion, I'm touched  I have a question about Kozilek: Can the deck suppo...

Re: Grothama, All-Devouring - The Maw of Oblivion

OK, what's left that might be cuttable to push this cheaper? Well, Grothama herself is pushing $7, but we can hardly cut our general now can we? Maze of Ith at $4, Okina at $4, Sanctum of Eternity at $3, Emerald Medallion at $5, those can all be Forests.Defiler of Vigor at $2.50 is worth it - compl...

Small update on that first interview, they set up a second interview for tomorrow morning.

I don't want to get my hopes up, but if they're moving this quickly they've got to be eager, right?
Good luck!

Re: Braids' Nightmares

Updates! I finally managed to update my decklist! Hope I get to test the new version next week. There are still some choices I'm not sure about: I think I want to play 30 Swamps. The cuts would probably be Barren Moor and maybe Pit of Offerings or Downyard Temple . I like that the Pit is another Boj...

Re: Tiny Leaders Duel Decks - Hub

Typically it's played as a best-of-three with sideboards, so it should take about the same length as an average 60-card-match. Some folks are building decks that are quite competitive, someone even called it a lovechild of EDH and Legacy. Not the power level I am aiming for, though. If you are inter...

Re: Wow @MTGSally really did go off a cliff since our move here.

Anyone remembers Magnus Magicus? I remember that he had built a decklist for nearly every commander available. Kind of like an Alpha EDHrec! As a lurker this was an interesting resource for odd and bad commanders. Edit: Another thing I liked about Sally: The decklist database. Could we do something ...

Re: Need Help with Monoblack Control

I'm not to sure about War Room. While its a great card and I'm really happy they printed it, I don't think you need it. You already play the cream of the crop of Black's carddraw. As you said, 4 mana is a lot for one card. I play it in Selvala atm, where I was looking for mana sinks and it has been ...

Re: Roland Deschain (Ghyrson) - First comes smiles, then lies. Last is gunfire.

Yeah, Ghyrson really does some work with a lot of things.

Urabrask is on my shortlist. Not so sure about the defiler though, as it specifically asks for permanent spells.

Re: Roland Deschain (Ghyrson) - First comes smiles, then lies. Last is gunfire.

Thanks for your suggestions! Curiosity is a great call, I should find a slot for one or more of those. My commander ramps up the damage of my tokens, too! In the few games I played my opponents underestimated them severly. They are a nice addition to my pingers. Regarding the pingers, the one I play...

"Ka was like a wheel, its one purpose to turn, and in the end it always came back to the place where it had started." from The Waste Lands, the third book from Stephen King's Dark Tower series. It's always nice to get back to a concept that worked in the past. A friend of mlne revisited As...
