Re: Need Help with Monoblack Control

I'm not to sure about Liliana of the Dark Realms. Imo she often underperforms. Her + just gets a Swamp to your hand, her - kills her, and her ultimate takes 4 turns.
Noxious Gearhulk looks weaker than your other cards in that slot. 6 mananis a lot for a kill spell on a dude, too.

Re: Need Help with Monoblack Control

Braids, Arisen Nightmare - This is inspired by @cheonice's thread. It'll be similar to TheGildedGoose's version where you maximize the chance of a great Turn 2-3 Braids trigger to get a surge of cards early to power the trigger later on to draw through the deck and eventually assemble the pieces wh...

Re: Braids' Nightmares

What do you think of Ugin's Nexus ? Should be extra turn + draw for 5, right? I had some success with it in Daretti back in the days. It sometimes felt a bit clunky, though. On the other hand MBC is probably a great place formit with all the mana we usually generate. And with the tagged on card dra...

Triple damage sounds better than double damage. So Gratuitous Violence is replaced by City on Fire. Tripling Purphys power makes him a one-hit commander, too! So yeah, Timmy is excited!

Re: Ephara - A Cornucopia of Cards

I opened Tishana's Tidebinder with the gorgeous alternate artwork! So naturally I needed to find a place for it.
Overcharged Amalgam underperformed several times due to the sacrifice clause, so it needs to go.

Re: Braids' Nightmares

Any reason you skipped Sol Ring ? Be the change you wish to see in the world. This is the decklist I came up with. I focussed more on late game ramp and added a few more synergy pieces. Thank you so much! That's a great inspiration.
Any reason you skipped Sol Ring ?
Nyx Lotus [/card] could be another lategame ramp. But it looks like it only works, if we are allready ahead.

I'm working on a new decklist I hope to post this week.

Re: Braids - Nightmare Unending

Your list looks great. How much does your playgroup hate you for playing Pox? I'm hestitant to go down that rabbit hole, because it dies not sound like a fun game for everyone else. How did this work for you? I like your inclusion of weird old cards like [card]Sarcomancy[card]. Nice find! How do the...

I forgot to mention Fallen Ideal as both a sac outlet and a recurring enchantment to sac. All the sacrifices!
Oh, that's nice! Some of the cmc3 options are probably worth considering.

Re: Braids' Nightmares

I've been running a Braids, Arisen Nightmare deck lately myself . My deck is a bit different, I'll see if I can get some time to add it here soon. One thing I've liked are the non-creature permanent based ETB removal cards like Oath of Liliana , since opponents typically can't, or do not want to, s...

Re: Bronzephoros - Well, that's on fire now

Deck looks great! I pulled Bronze apart* a little while ago, but it's really nice to see the Timmy runs strong still. *That said I converted it into Delina. Its fairly similar, maybe a little more explosive, definitely more of a glass cannon. But it's just as fun as Purph was. Have you thought abou...

Re: Braids' Nightmares

Sounds good. I'll give your suggestions a try: More lategame ramp, more early game cards like card draw, sac fodder, and self mill, more lands. 37-38 lands is my go-to, How many do you suggest? Still not sure about Lil' Lilli, but I'll add her to my watch list. Grave Titan is more of a nostalgic inc...

Bronzephoros - Well, that's on fire now [br] Zealous Conscripts Purphoros, Bronze-Blooded Scourge of the Throne [br] My inner Timmy needed to sling some big dumb creatures again. Re: Braids' Nightmares

Jeweled Amulet is fantastic for slamming your 3mv commander on turn 2 and the fact that it sticks around for sac fodder seems amazing. A+. Do you think you'd want to run more cards like Ichor Wellspring and Mephitic Draught ? Those kinds of cards were all-stars in my Daretti, Scrap Savant list that...

Re: Ephara - A Cornucopia of Cards

Uh, the new Flesh Duplicate looks interesting! I've been searching for another Sun Titan able clone for a while. Phantasmal Image felt weird, because I can't target it with Whitemane Lion or Thassa, Deep-Dwelling . Flesh Duplicate could finally fill this role. Whitemane Lion doesn't target, so you ...

Re: Braids' Nightmares

Small changes. While being a weirdly funny card, Chime of Night always felt a bit clunky. Often I just killed a random creature with it. With the reprint of Bloodghast the ever-rising vampire gets a chance to shine. A nearly free sac-fodder sounds just great for Braids. I was looking for cards that ...

Re: Ephara - A Cornucopia of Cards

Some changes. Venser, the Sojourner feels more and more like a bad Teleportation Circle and is more of a nostalgic card. Remorseful Cleric always was just a placeholder for a better effect. And I really like the flexibility Kutzil's Flanker offers. Charming Prince has been a great card for this deck...

Annihilation was great.
I'll add The Platform. More social commentary than explicit horror, but nontheless a movie that left a lasting impression.

Definitely worth a look. I've stayed away from libraries for a while as I'm a fantasy guy; there's nothing more infuriating than not being able to find the 3rd of 7 books but all of the others being available, if that makes sense. I'm sure it's probably a lot better with films, which is great for m...

The library in my town exploded with creativity. They have a so-call3d library of things, where you can get nearly everything, a wide range of board games and video games, seeds and crops, 3D printers and VR. It's amazing!

Looks fun! If you're looking for a second copy of Whitemane Lion, Stonecloaker could be great. I play them in Ephara, God of the Polis and both cards are pretty good. Even if the gargoyle costs 3.
