Re: [Kaldheim] Black Commons
@bravelion83 Sorry if I went out too brazenly. But since the time of our first playtest is rapidly approaching, some foreshadowing isn't necessarily that bad, eh?

Re: [Kaldheim] Black Commons
Actually bravelion83 and I are like 5 months in development of a Viking set. It's bottom-up. We already have a great world and story to tell, and have just started Commons. We also have Runes, Raid and Ships ;) We even considered to actually make Kaldheim happen like what you're doing now, but decid...

Re: The MCC Discussion Thread
A hypothetical question. How would MCC handle a new card template? Should the player provide the render then?

Re: The MCC Discussion Thread
Final standings:
Subject16: 20.5 + 21 + 20.5 = 62
slimytrout: 18.5 + 22 + 21 = 61.5
jamblock: 21.5 + 20.5 + 19 = 61
Kypster: 19 + 19 + 21 = 59
That was extremely close! Great work everyone! But the winner may be only one.
All hail Subject16!

Re: The MCC Discussion Thread
Ryder (1/3) Quality - Action words should not state "you may" in the beginning. Should be worded "You may salvage a creature". (-0.5) This is templated the same way Champion is. Wren's Run Packmaster . Is there some difference between the two keywords that keeps it from working ...

Re: The MCC Discussion Thread
1) "When you cast" is a triggered ability, Desperation is like Kicker - can't be responded to.
2) "Also" is the modern way of doing this kind of effect.

Re: The MCC Discussion Thread
Still not good enough, slimy. -2/-2 is an offensive effect. Reflavoring Disfigure into "Warning Disfigure" does not really work. Take a look at this article . I can only say there's plenty of effects that would fit Tibalt here. So to be clear: A burn spell wouldn't be considered a defensiv...

@slimytrout Not DQable, but you would likely not get full points for the main challenge for it. Retaliation is an attack of sorts. I'm sure you'll find something more suitable in

Re: The MCC Discussion Thread
Added clarification:
"Defensive", apart from being reactive, means "Not offensive". Simple check: Could the effect be considered an attack? The answer must be a clear "No".

Re: The MCC Discussion Thread
he is Rakdos from a flavor perspecitive I see no problems here. Tibalt is Rakdos, even if his existing cards are monored. Existing cards don't matter. Character concept does. Niv-Mizzet went from Blue-Red to full rainbow recently. I see no reason why Tibalt could not be Grixis or Jund once. Obvious...

Re: The MCC Discussion Thread
I feel like the open ended-ness of the effect (in a 'go wide' deck this could easily be up to 5 tokens or more which is a 9 cmc Rite) and diversity of options makes up for the value. Yes, but 9cmc Rite would still be better as it doesn't merely upgrade your creatures, but produces all tokens out of...
