Re: [Off-Topic] Community Chat Thread

I want to play an unsleeved deck that donates cards to people so they have to touch my heavily, heavily played cards. Who should I build?

Wasn't this another card that was going to destroy the format?

Re: Unreleased and New Card Discussion

I love that black is getting more board wipes at less than six mana. Especially ones that allow for regeneration.

Re: Unreleased and New Card Discussion

Incidentally, the first thing that came to mind when I saw Undergrowth Recon was Thawing Glaciers, an oldie but a goodie. I think it's perfectly playable in the right decks but not grossly imbalanced or a format staple. Great card, though its placement at mythic is questionable.

Re: Budget deck price and philosophy?

It depends. I have different budgets for different decks. $1DH, $50, and $100. No real rhyme or reason, but each price point has its challenges. As for shipping, I never calculate that for price, considering you can get most of the cards from a FLGS bulk bin. You do tend to lean into your commander ...

Re: Samwise Gamgee: Power, Potatoes, and Promises

I don't see a lot lists playing Shigeki, Jukai Visionary. Channeled Shigeki seems real, real good to recur with Samwise, even in a deck playing a higher density of legendaries than normal.

Re: [Off-Topic] Community Chat Thread

I know it's a minuscule sample size but of the 35 games I've been tracking 27 of them have been won by one of the first two players in turn order. There's an obvious advantage in going earlier, but dang, I didn't expect it to be this pronounced. We'll see how the data levels out over time.

Re: [Off-Topic] Community Chat Thread

I'm disappointed people aren't as frustrated about the arbitrary spaces in mtg names. I always hoped there was some underlying rule that I just hadn't picked up on, kind of like how I just learned last week why the colors on dual lands are placed left to right in the order that they are (it's incon...

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - Inkmoth Nexus

I used it as a cheap mainland to mutate Brokkos, Apex of Forever onto so I didn't have to run creatures. Completely fair Magic card.

Have you considered Volrath's Stronghold (if you own one) or Unholy Grotto? Those lands are sweet for Voltronish decks.

Cash rules everything around me C.R.E.A.M. get the money Dollar, dollar bill, y'all - Method Man, C.R.E.A.M. Treasures have taken over the format. Tacking a Lotus Petal or two onto spells of any size, as it turns out, is pretty good. I've seen many instances where people have more treasure than the...

Re: Y'all are building Liesa wrong

If you're spending turns not casting spells because all you're holding are reactive spells you don't need, you're not being very efficient with your mana, and will likely run into having to discard to hand size. Not the worst thing in the world, but also not ideal. Having proactive early plays (lik...

I feel like you want to be focused, spending mana just to spend mana will get you nowhere. We all have seen folks vomit 4 rocks and have no CA going on. they spent a ton of mana, and arent in a good position. I mostly play Karador, Ghost Chieftain and many games I win are games I lay low and domina...

I'd be interested to see the results of this "study" just don't present your findings as objective fact. Really not sure what my "hypothesis" is. I suspect ramping will be very good, board presence will be very bad, and doing nothing will be pretty good. Not enough data for scul...

Re: [Off-Topic] Community Chat Thread

Any science or math heads in the house? Or smart people in general? Dunadain got me thinking about the early game in their Liesa thread . My own experience has been that simply ramping isn't always the best option. Sometimes you can just sculpt your hand/tutor/self-mill or generally expand your opti...

Re: Y'all are building Liesa wrong

Right but the games where playing a wipe on t4 is a bad idea are the kind of games I'm already favored in. I would think you're soft to noncreature decks, actually, even with a punisher commander. I mean, Phelddagrif is probably the slowest deck I've ever played, but it's not the only deck that can...
