Chalice is still not needed and relic is great. Like I allways say, you can beat easy red decks without chalice and endless one instead. I've been playing the deck for a while and in the current meta I've had great success playing 2 Karn, Scion of Urza main deck. I guess 1 would probably be more right, but at the moment it's a game changer against midrange matchups like Jund, which has become very popular. The extra draw is very help...
