Re: Unreleased and New Card Discussion
I think your confidence in your card evaluation is unwarranted. Uncalled for by all means. It is obvious that they shouldn't print way stronger combinations of front and back. But when both front and back are just this, why should i even opt for it? The beginning of this whole discussion was that s...

Re: Unreleased and New Card Discussion
Bala Ged Recovery // Bala Ged Sanctuary is run more than twice as frequently as Regrowth , despite regrowth being strictly better than recovery's front side, AND the land on the back always enters tapped. Fell the profane costs 4 compared to the commonly-played 2mv removal But the point is that Bal...

Re: Diminishing returns on "better" cards
it starts to dawn on me that the deck doesn't feel like it plays any differently. Have you ever felt that way? I think when it comes down to Primer level decks, i comes down to subtle and miniscule changes and therefor the perceived difference will diminish. In Teshar, Ancestor's Apostle i went fro...

Having a hard time imagining most black decks not running Fell the Profane in most scenarios. Having a hard time imagining a lot of black decks running it, given it is the color with land type payoffs. Bubbling Muck , Cabal Coffers , Cabal Stronghold , Crypt Ghast , Defile , Dread Presence , Mutila...

Re: Unreleased and New Card Discussion
I mean, ditching Veteran Explorer for Flare of Cultivation would be quite hilarious... Something with a death trigger would be ideal, though veteran explorer kinda mitigates the mana advantage you're getting from flare. 2 mana when everyone else has 1 is a lot more exciting than 4 mana when everyon...

Re: Teshar, Ancestor's Apostle | Eggs, Cheerios & Weenies
Once again, one of those minuscule swaps. Cutting even more mana value while increasing combo opportunities is exactly how i picture regular updates to my list. + 1 Bovine Intervention - Though it might only destroy, it hits the two most relevant types at a sleek rate + 1 Nurturing Pixie - No surpri...

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - Isildur's Fateful Strike
Isildur's Fateful Strike Perfect fit in my Nashi, Moon's Legacy legendary tribal deck... but i can hardly see it outside of that and LotR block constructed. It requires you to have a legendary creature or planeswalker first, costs 4 mana, doesn't exile and the exile to 4 cards in hand clause could ...

sol ring|sum To keep it short: It's a mistake that it is the poster child of the format - and the format would've been of without it legal and in every damn precon. I've been following this deck for a while. Good to see you're still keeping up with it! You wouldn't know how happy i am to read that! :) Every few months i'm considering yet another rewrite, but i just can't find the time, unfortunately. But the overall tech is there and i keep the decklist up to ...

[sym=creature] Creatures [sym=1] [sym=w] [sym=w] Aven Interrupter - Clearly depends on your meta, but generally speaking this a seriously strong card. [sym=2] [sym=w] Claim Jumper - Since this doesn't limit itself to basics it should be real good in mid-powered metas. In top-notch builds Knight of ...

Hoverstone Pilgrim has been great so far - getting its effect for a mere 2 mana in Tomb Trawler is absurd!

What do people think? Am I missing something? Pip-Boy 3000 I've asked myself the same thing - and i don't see it either. Sure, it doesn't require you to connect, but i would still prefer Mask of Memory and Bear Umbra . Untapping "just" two lands would mean they better be top notch lands.....
