nice stats. I'm surprised someone actually brought that 4 color snow deck.
And it actually managed to win a few games.

Hogaak and Phoenix both still very strong.

Re: [Official] State of Modern Thread (B&R 07/08/2019)

curious to see what happens as well on Hogaak. It was spared from the ban, so it seems several people have decide to now invest in the deck. This is the time for the deck to show what it can really do.

Re: [Official] State of Modern Thread (B&R 07/08/2019)

Latest episode of the Arena Decklist podcast is a deep dive on Jund and they seem to be high on the deck. Gerry T should be playing it this weekend. W6 and Seasoned Pyro just seem to be pretty hyped cards right now. I feel that tron is just still too good vs a lot of midrange even with the addition...

Your top five favourite modern cards

This thread is for a bit of fun, and sharing what cards we like in the modern format. You can simply just list them, or maybe put a short description on why you like them. :) I'll start. 1. Kaya's Guile - this card is top 1 for me, because it has breathe back life into my mardu pyro deck. 2. Blast Z...

Re: [Deck] Ninjas

I hope the smoke works well for you. They have been a blast to play, and gives the deck a real ninja flavor. Ninja are more skilled when fighting inside a smoke! :P About swarmyard. I expect it to work in my deck because 4 typhoid rat and 2 outcast in the main, plus 3 skullsnatcher and a throat slit...

yeah, she's brutal against phoenix and shuts down big teferi in traditional uw control. Which is why I have two narset of my own in the sideboard. Thank goodness, got a playset when she was still a dollar a copy. Still have not given up trying to get one copy of her alternate art - will get one some...

Re: [Official] State of Modern Thread (B&R 07/08/2019)

As long as you don't care about winning, and are willing to accept a nonzero number of awful, fast, and/or unfulfilling rounds of play, you can play pretty much whatever you want. My stance on this was heavily influenced by the fact that I only get to play 4-5 rounds in paper every 2 weeks thanks t...

still hoping for a reprint of engineered plague. We already have plague engineer from MH!, but an enchantment is harder to remove than a creature.

Re: [Official] State of Modern Thread (B&R 07/08/2019)

They play Modern for fun but it doesn't seem like a "real" format to them. It's sad to me because my format IS Modern. hmm, relax why do you have to be sad that modern is not a real format for other people? It's just the opinion of others.. should not be treated as overwhelming fact. WoTC...

Re: [Official] State of Modern Thread (B&R 07/08/2019)

More seriously, WAR and MH have completely reshaped the format landscape. The same top decks are still top decks (UW Control, Humans, Gx Tron, Izzet Phoenix, Dredge, etc.) but many of those decks received powerful new tools. Thankfully, many of the lower tier decks also received powerful new tools ...

Re: [Official] Modern Prices Discussion

if midrange decks using black become dominant in modern. Veil might rise in price as it's quite good against those kind of decks. It "counters" thoughtseize, kolaghans. command, and several black removal spells.

Changed some cards, replaced some of the counterspells with discard --- that succesful...

Re: [Deck] Ninjas

I see, thanks. Will try getting some Naga to test on next scg order. :) Also need to have some photocopied to use as tokens. hehe for enablers, Faerie Seer is arguably one of the best. However, I also suggest you test one or two Smoke Shroud . It's not card disadvantage in our deck, as it comes back...

Re: [ELD] Chulane, Teller of Tales & Arcane Signet

about the legend. He has the "draw a card" in the text + some other abilities, so 5 cmc is reasonable for this guy. Obviously a lightning rod for removal, but the decks that would use him probably has some counterspells. don't understand anything about Brawl, because I don't play or care a...

thanks, I guess they would import a mix of some stories into mtg to make something fresh. although the preview art I saw, the girl wearing green clothes and there's a bit of blood. nice to know there would be more faeries. Maybe this set would make faerie tribal stronger in modern. Faerie community is hoping on actually becoming a real tribal deck. Curious if Kasmina would be from this set. There will be 3 Planeswalkers. 2 Known, 1 Unknown. [src] And we already know one of th...

Re: [Deck] Ninjas

you did the right thing removing the F. Shinobi. With only 19 lands, it's hard to cast them regularly. how do the Naga work. Are they effective against your opponents? ________________________ Also testing. The main problem in game 2 is my enablers getting killed, so it becomes harder to sneak in a ...

[Poll] How much graveyard removal? (while looting is not banned)

Out of curiosity, how many graveyard removal cards do people still have in the main? :)
Will start by saying that still have three on most of my fnm decks. As Hogaak, Dredge, Phoenix, and other looting decks are still around.

My mardu pyro has 3 kaya's guile.

Re: Cards that should be reprinted to enter the Modern card pool

for other cards I hope a reprint. Chainer, Dementia Master and Volrath the Fallen . they probably won't go into any competitive decks, but would be nostalgic to use them every once in awhile. for something possibly competitive. Maybe a psychatog + nightscape familiar reprint? I was sort of hoping th...
