Re: Crucible of Worlds is my Commander
What about Zuran Orb ? That's another powerhouse in my Hazezon, Shaper of Sand deck. Granted, I've deliberately gone for a janky Dune-themed build (sand warriors = Fremen, doncha know).

Re: Crucible of Worlds is my Commander
I can tell you right now that Constant Mists is brutal. I run it in my Hazezon, Shaper of Sand deck, and when I get it in hand, I tend to win pretty quickly. Yeah, it's not a question of power. My playgroup is kind of all on the same page where we all see combat-based wincons as superior to alterna...

Re: Unreleased and New Card Discussion
My biggest surprise with UB Marvel isn't that Hasbro would want to use the IP—of course it would. No, my surprise is with Disney. Disney is far more money-grubbing than Hasbro ever will be, and with the so-far-success of Lorcana, I'm surprised Disney isn't saving Marvel (and Star Wars, etc.) for fut...

The Master, Multiplied is an interesting design. I'm sure there's a way to break him.

Re: You know how the LotR decks were at a pretty suspect pricepoint...?
I'll admit to having preordered all four Doctor Who precons for about $55 apiece (including shipping and tax). My wife blanched at the price, but the whole family loves the fandom, so it'll be worth it.

Re: Unreleased and New Card Discussion
How so? Is it that a group-hug situation cannot be strategic? Or is it the idea of a "group hug?"

Re: Unreleased and New Card Discussion
Am I missing something or is Sail into the West just about the worst card ever? Symmetrical AND the table gets to vote? Why would anyone play this card? And then to add insult to injury, the recursion mode self-exiles (what are we worried about here? Time warp recursion combos? Won't you just get o...

Re: Sefris of the Kind of Obvious Ways
Here's a link to my Sefris deck. Note that it does have a silver-bordered card in it, as our group allows those (and, thematically, Animate Graveyard really fits the deck). Not the most tuned land base, but I included what I have. The deck can be slow, but when it hits its stride, I'm hitting dungeo...

Re: Unreleased and New Card Discussion
How does Nearby Planet work in EDH? Can I slot him into Hazezon, Shaper of Sand as an extra desert, or does the fact that it's all basic land types mean it can only be used in a five-color deck? You don't have to concern yourself with this as it's an acorn card. When they first revealed the acorn t...

Re: Unreleased and New Card Discussion
A question about a few of the new initiative cards—for example, Imoen, Mystic Trickster and Safana, Calimport Cutthroat . Do you get the secondary "if you've completed a dungeon" trigger if you don't have the initiative? For example, If I have Imoen out and have completed a dungeon but do...

Re: Unreleased and New Card Discussion
I'm obsessed with Livaan, Cultist of Tiamat . Not sure what background to pair with her, but an ability based on casting noncreature spells...always feels strong. Maybe I am just bored of Kykar. Maybe this is the UR artifact deck I want? Perhaps a lot of ramp spells? No way I do another enchantress...

Re: Help tuning down Obeka
Nice, I hope this is a solution the other players like too  . How is the Millicent precon holding up? I do like spirits and I was considering buying it myself. I'm enjoying it. I'm putting in some of the new spirits (myojin and dragons) from NEO. However, I still think it doesn't have the str...

Re: Help tuning down Obeka
That's a great suggestion—great enough that I've done it! I currently also run modified Millicent, Restless Revenant and Sefris of the Hidden Ways precons. I actually really like Sefris—hopefully the upcoming FR set includes more dungeons.

Re: Help tuning down Obeka
I've been playing longer than some of the other players, so I do have some of the older cards, like Kiki-Jiki and Word of Command. That said, we're definitely a casual group. At least one of the other players typically plays with tweaked precons. I wonder if removing Sakashima and perhaps the Nights...

Help tuning down Obeka
OK, this is a bit of an unusual ask. I need your help...possibly making this deck worse. Allow me to explain. When I last played this deck with our casual EDH group, it ended up dominating the game. Specifically, the combination of Feldon of the Third Path , Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker , Nightscape Fa...

I'm not a judge, but the "other half" is right. The "up to" wording means that the player can target X or fewer cards.

Re: Grenzo, Dungeon Warden - The Slot Machine of Value
I played the deck last night for the first time. Our group is very "kitchen table" Magic—two of the players had stock WotC Commander decks, and the third guy was playing a well-tuned Zaxara hydra deck. Well, I think my Grenzo deck was a smashing success. If it means anything, the game ende...

Very true. What about Panharmonicon? Would that make sense in this deck?

Re: Grenzo, Dungeon Warden - The Slot Machine of Value
So, I'm building this deck. It's been on my radar for some time, and now I'm biting the bullet. However, my budget is a bit more limited. I looked through my collection, and I wonder if any of the following cards would be worth it, even in a budget version of the deck. Yarok's Fenlurker : Wouldn't t...

Re: Theft, Protection, and the Value of Commander Decks
I don't have an expensive collection to protect like others in this thread, but I did want to jump in on the topic of water/fire-proof safes. I've owned one such safe for many years to hold important documents and other items. These safes are, obviously, airtight, which means that any ambient moistu...
