Re: Zedruu the Greatest of All Time
I demonstrated a loop that allowed me to continously take infinite turns, I cast it twice before they realized that i would never pass the turn to anyone but myself at that point. They asked how I planned on killing them, so i fished out barren glory and used the infinite mana time spiral would hav...

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - Wildfire Eternal
There is quite a pile of options to give something like this haste from the command zone these days, the issue is building a deck that wants haste in the command zone but also big instants and sorceries worth cheating. Maybe, just maybe, there's a Maelstrom Wanderer deck out there that would do well...

Re: Commander Forum Rules, Announcements, and Helpdesk
Does anyone know if there's a way to make a card link show a specific printing of a card? Like say for instance I wanted to hover over Beastmaster Ascension and have it show the Zendikar printing? Thanks for your time! [card](CARDNAME) | (SETNAME)[/card], so [card]Beastmaster Ascension|Zendikar[/ca...

Re: Zedruu the Greatest of All Time
First time: Warstorm Surge + Cowardice + March of the Machines + jeskai Ascendancy + Unbender tine + Pentad Prism. Basically, using prism to cast itself, and return it with tine, dealing 2 damage each time. Second time: Jesai ascendancy again (best card in the deck maybe???) along with Eye of the S...

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - Nature's Blessing
I like banding, it is very good. As some may know, I have a whole deck based around the "bands with other legends" lands. The reason to band is because you want to attack or block with something but you don't want it to die. Examples: Marton Stromgald has an incredible attack or block trig...

Re: [Off-Topic] Community Chat Thread
Remember last year when they super hyped us with saying that it would be Jund landfall? Remember what we got? We got Lord Windgrace . People love Lord Windgrace. It's always been my opinion that the 2018 decks are perfectly fine. The issue was marketing. They lowered the count, upped the price, and...

Re: [Off-Topic] Community Chat Thread
This website is a wonderful place. Last night, someone in person poo-pooed the precons when asked his opinion. I think I turned his opinion around quickly enough, but as far as why he thought that, I'm seeing elsewhere on the internet people complaining again that the pre-cons are unplayable and wor...

Re: Zedruu the Greatest of All Time
As with lots of things, I'm 100% testing Elsha of the Infinite out as well. I do test out lots and lots of cards. And while I haven't tried the newest artifact with this text, I've been determined to try and find a card I like that lets me peek at the top card of my library. I love doing that. Sphin...

Re: Zedruu the Greatest of All Time
My mistake! I didn't read it correctly and thought of it as having the same donation effect as Sleeper Agent or Xantcha . I do enjoy the cloning ideas, though! Also worth noting, there are multiple aspects of this design that suggest there might be a cycle. The art's focus on the two colors represe...

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - Evil Twin
This is not one of the best clones in the game. It is good because clones are good, and this is a clone with upside. But I wouldn't rate it above clones that can copy your own commander profitably, or clones that can copy more than one permanent type, or clones with haste, and those 3 things include...

Re: Zedruu the Greatest of All Time
New card from Commander 2019: Pendant of Prosperity Could be neat in this deck, though I don't know what would be cut for it. But it seems to do a lot - synergises with Zedruu, plays politics, and if the controlling opponent dies you get it back and can either donate it again, or keep it to get dou...

Re: Unreleased and New Card Discussion
With regard to Pendant of Prosperity and Zedruu: It's got potential, maybe. It costs 3 mana, so it casts the turn before Zedruu and gives you Zedruu draws ASAP. This is the same curve as Political Trickery , which I love, and is even easier to cast since it's all colorless mana. But a smart opponent...

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - Khalni Gem
Essentially it costs 1, because you'll replay one of the lands you returned. Or it can cost a net 0 if you returned a sol land (ancient tomb, city of traitors). I don't consider it a slam dunk by any means, but I do think it's a sleeper engine in the right builds. I have on occasion played Leave //...

Re: Zedruu the Greatest of All Time
I have considered Galecaster Colossus, but never tried it. If it could target my own things, I'd try it. Though to be fair, I do play Zedruu, so there is a world where it could bounce my things and enable a more convoluted variation of Jeskai Ascendancy combo.

Re: Zedruu the Greatest of All Time
Raff, Crawler, Role Reversal, Leave//Chance and Azor's Gateway all seem great - other than Shimmer Myr are there any particular cards in my version that you'd recommend cutting for those additions? And, any suggestions on which cards from your version to replace Tyrant, MoM and Dream Halls? The way...

Re: Zedruu the Greatest of All Time
It's actually quite nice of you to post an old build here. It's a neat point of reference. It's hard to say what isn't essential, as both lists feel like my children, but also it depends what you want to do. I'm fairly confident the old version you're playing is just stronger than the current deck, ...

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - The Great Aurora
This card is Great. It's the most fun way they've printed to scramble up a board state. It neither makes the game before it meaningless nor the game after it miserable.

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - Solitary Confinement
What a coincidence; I just started researching a 5C Enchantress list over the weekend and Solitary Confinement popped up many times. The player-shroud ability is a great upside over Spirit of Resistance , while the downside can be mitigated by cards like Honden of Seeing Winds|CHK or by being the M...

Re: [MCD] Wishes
Commander is about building casually and playing competitively. So if you are wishing and going through a binder looking for a card, choosing a sub-optimal card is akin to sand-bagging your winning combo. There is no fun in it. That is an incredibly solid argument right there, at least against the ...

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - Solitary Confinement
I got a Mangara of Corondor for my legendary creature deck because of two specific games I couldn't win based on Solitary Confinement and then Glacial Chasm.
