Re: Couple more minor things
"Involved Topics" added, which lists "topics you've posted in" ( Also, is there a better name than "Involved Topics" that isn't too long? ) Best I could think of was swapping "involved" for "engaged", but I wouldn't really consider that an upgrade s...

Re: [Off-Topic] Community Chat Thread
It's funny you should say that, as your survey seems to have gotten a lot of attention, including some seemingly competitive people. I do hope they stay, we've got some lively threads at the moment.

Re: Having Your Voice Heard
Please stop writing comments like this one : I'm not demonizing combos here. What's of concern is that when they're the primary win condition, the format devolves. Games need to end at some point, so having a backup plan isn't all that bad. When the nuclear option becomes the first choice, then we ...

Re: Having Your Voice Heard
My biggest issue is honestly with the RC in general and their treatment of the format as an abstract concept based on what they personally find as fun. You're describing literally the draw of the format. They made the rules in a way that supports their abstract concept of fun. People get into the f...

Re: [SCD] Flash
It seems odd to me that so few people play Flash casually in the format of etbs and big fatties, I personally use it to sneak in Grozoth , but apparently I am a rare breed. You made me look up those edhrec numbers. 73% of Flash decks have Protean Hulk , only 21% of Protean Hulk decks have Flash, so ...

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - Maelstrom Nexus
I love this card with Academy Rector . I know saying an enchantment is good with Rector is sort of like saying spells are good with lands, but I've always hated not being able to cascade the first turn because Maelstrom Nexus was technically my first spell for turn, and sneaking it into play dodges ...

Re: First Annual Commander Climate Survey
I've got a friend who plays Iso-Silence in a deck because that was his 60-card deck of choice years ago, and in that deck he does lots of fair things like Isochron Scepter a Deflecting Palm. That is the only person I've ever seen use that card in this format other than Dramatic Reversal.

Re: First Annual Commander Climate Survey
It's fun watching the trends shift as more responses come in. A lot of the answer trends have held really strong, but I've noticed 2 things change pretty vividly as we moved from just us here to people who saw it on reddit to people who saw Sheldon's tweet. The level of satisfaction over specificall...

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - Bloodline Shaman
There are better draw effects for creature decks, but this one synergizes with untap effects, and there are plenty of good ways to untap a creature on repeat. I am a fan of shamans though, so I should probably own one of these.

Re: [SCD] Sol Ring
The strength of g/x decks necessitates fast mana. I've seen far more nongames due to green ramp than mana rocks due to the stigma against stopping the former and numerous people running answers to the latter. Ok, but nobody's goal should be to make non-games more color balanced. Letting other color...

Re: [Off-Topic] Community Chat Thread
I said this before though: this is one of the things I think we are getting spoiled on here. That is, the transparency and constant communication when things are happening. I have yet to hear anything from the new owner of MTGSalvation and I don't think I saw anything about the site being down temp...

Re: [SCD] Sol Ring
There are cards that hurt the format way way way way way more then sol sing. I would entertain that possibility. Would you care to elaborate? Bear in mind, if you think something like Tooth and Nail is hurting the format more, you're imagining each copy of Tooth and Nail being played causing 25x as...

Re: Topical Discussion of the Official Multiplayer Ban List
The way they are handling things, imo, is that if somebody creates a Stasis lock against Sheldon in a game then we'll see every stax card banned, at least at this rate. I've seen people make comments like this elsewhere, and I have no reason to believe there's any rationale behind it whatsoever. Th...

Could we hide threads someone doesn't have access to from recent threads
Specifically, the commander primer discussion that's limited to just the people on the primer committee is really often one of the threads in trending topics and/or most recent posts, and that's probably not optimal.

USA, PA, York (at the moment).
I bounce around between a few stores and playgroups in the York/Harrisburg area. I can get to basically anywhere on I-83 pretty easily.

Re: [SCD] Sol Ring
That's actually interesting. I only know the basic summary of what Oathbreaker is, I've never even seen someone play it, but if people enjoy that format with Sol Ring banned, perhaps it will help tip the scales in Commander.

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - Fireball
There's certainly a few choices I'd need to justify first, such as Aurelia's Fury or Molten Disaster, yes. Possibly Banefire but I don't think that is such an open-and-shut case in this context. Perhaps I'm just overly nostalgic for Fireball with my forays into white border deck building. I think y...

Re: [SCD] Sol Ring
Of course there's one of those threads ;) You bring up the statistical analysis that showed Sol Ring starts to negatively affect win rate, and you spin that as a problem for the card. I'd argue the opposite - it demonstrably shows that it can be handled. If anything, pods need to work on picking up...

I read the flavor text as "Some people just want to watch the world burn" which would be far more appropriate line for Jaya than Jhoira.

Re: [SCD] Sol Ring
I don't think that many people say "I can't play sol ring in this deck so I'm going to retire it" so much as there's a very small pressure toward green decks that may add up to being more of a detriment long term than expected. Given green is already the most popular casual color by a lot...

Re: [SCD] Sol Ring
I'm really not sure if any of this is reason to ban or not, but I feel like for the most part, just sharing some of the various thoughts and experiences I've had over the years with sol ring. It definitely causes a lot of busted games, enough so that my group banned it for years. So I am sympatheti...

[SCD] Sol Ring
If any card deserves a thread in this subforum, Sol Ring is the card. It is historically the most contentious card in the format, and I have no hesitation in saying it should be banned. I do not think Sol Ring is an unbeatable card that's ruining the competitive balance of the format, but competitiv...

I now have to carefully consider what deck to build for Painter's Servant. It's so niche as to not seamlessly slot into Zedruu.

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - Scornful AEther-Lich
It's wild to me that they were designing cards like this like a year or so before deciding Fear was a bad mechanic. Even just looking at this card, this set had colored artifact creatures and non-black creatures with black mana costs in the text box. This card is little to speak of as far as usefull...
