I have a high degree of affection for Animate Wall. Part of that was me thinking that high toughness was good when I was really young and just starting in the game. Then Doran, the Siege Tower was the first card to properly vindicate me.
Still, Animate Wall is interesting. It showcases something about Magic - the possibility of making offbeat decks - even if the card itself is just plain no good.
I could write a lot more on this subject, but there are many more cards to comment on.
