I was not aware that Sivitri Scarzam was a pre-mending planeswalker. It's awesome though, she's always been one of my favorite OG legends.

I mean, it's funny because of how godawful the card is. (She's a vanilla 6/4 for seven mana, apparently proof that Magic doesn't hate green. "See this bad green card? Blue and black get worse.")

This one is better, but I would prefer her to be partially red for Commander purposes.

It wasn't actually bad back when it was printed, barring the legendary typing. A nongreen Craw Wurm was pretty good back then. Now we get a 7/7 with a keyword and additional rules text for that cost.
User avatar
In early Magic, it was rare anything that cost more than four mana would be played. Basically the only way to play them was Channel, and you were probably using it with an x-cost burn spell.
User avatar
Well, at least if you didn't play green. Around the ice age - tempest era Stompy was a very viable deck archetype strong enough to take on Necropotence, Sui-black, sligh, fish, and white weenie. But before that, you'd be hard pressed to play big stuff.
User avatar
I mean, yeah, but Stompy, people don't get Stompy. It's all about Winter Orb and breaking it by untapping/bouncing lands and using mana dorks. Oh, and you didn't play anything costing more than three mana, and very little (if anything) at three.
User avatar
Mirage/Tempest Stompy was all about ramping and playing big threats. Rootbreaker Wurm was a common sight. Then in Urza block we got Emperor Crocodile, and it pretty much took over.
