Scheming fence and chrome mox

I am fairly sure what the answer is here but the wording of Scheming Fence is a little odd.

If someone has a Chrome Mox out and I Scheming Fence it, my assumption is that because fence does not have a card imprinted it can't tap for mana, since the mox ability refers to a card imprinted on that specific card.

Does anyone know for sure how this works?

Looking at the associated rulings...

Some activated abilities won't do anything when activated by Scheming Fence. For example, if the chosen permanent is an Equipment with an equip ability, activating that equip ability will not cause Scheming Fence to become attached because it isn't one of the subtypes which can be attached to permanents (Aura, Equipment, and Fortification).

If no card is imprinted on Chrome Mox, it can't add mana to your mana pool. It can never add {C} to your mana pool, even if the imprinted card has a colorless mana symbol in its mana cost.
So yes, your interpretation looks to be correct - nothing is imprinted on Scheming Fence, so you can't use it to add mana.
