I barely squeaked through today. Lots of guesses and process of elimination. Thankfully, a little careful winnowing led me to the eventual answer, which was itself just a lucky guess. That left side was a beating.

What is everyone using as their first word? I've been going with STARE, but I think I might switch to STONE. There are definitely a lot of stones in magic.

I start with DEATH, just like I do in normal wordle and here it makes even more sense. Should I got no letter or a singular yellow, I follow with MINGY, trying to find some vowels.

Oddly I got it decently quick, but that's because I was guessing the word to try and place the letters, not because I thought it was right
(I start with a base three words first, and then start guessing the answer, so 4/5 is generally my best)
(Although one day Fire-Omen Crane / Lotus Petal will be the answer, and I'll get a 1/2 lol)

Personal record so far.

My theory for the many proper names and other weird one-of names: Zipf's law. The more common words get a single entry in the word list, just as the weird ones, so for twenty uses of "mantle" you get one chance for that word, but every Adrix, Aegar and Esika gets its own entry as well.
