congrats. I'm hoping to get my first dose within the next month or two. It's still going painfully slow in Canada. Right now it's just health workers and people over the age of around 75 getting vaccines right now. As someone who works in a food production factory, I'd imagine I'll probably be eligible for getting the vaccine soon

my mom also got her dose a few days ago, it's the Astrazenica brand. Well, that's one less worry for us now.
situation has deteriorated in my country, with 10,000+ new cases. There's even a doctor saying that corona has already "defeated" local hospitals, because they cannot take in more patients due to being too full.

Congratulations.

I ended up being able to move my second dose from originally late September to 2 weeks from tomorrow, so one less thing to worry about. Hopefully everything returns to normal soon

Well, they are now vaccinating everyone 18 and up, and by the beginning of next month, they'll start vaccinating all the way down to I think it was 12 year olds. Good times.

It is also likely we (my mother and myself) will be getting a booster shot in September, just in case.

I'm pretty sure Canada is pretty much vaccinating everyone who wants it now as well. I believe there was a massive supply issue a few months ago that really hurt the ability to get vaccines out and into people (TL:DR, a government maybe a decade ago got rid of our ability to produce our own vaccines on our soil). But now the government has been able to import a lot so everyone can get it

In the US, the tentative plan is to initiate a round of boosters for those vaccinated with either mRNA vaccine (Pfizer or Moderna) on September 20th. One becomes eligible for this third shot eight months after your second one.

They've started issuing booster shots here in Sweden today, the highest risk groups first, then the rest of us. I'll likely get my booster in December at the latest, more likely later this month or early October. We'll see.

I look at it this way: They may or may not be needed, but it is better to be safe and give them, than sorry because you didn't.
