Neyith's Fight for Survival

I have lurked on this forum for a very long time ever since the MTG Salvation days, though that was all that I did... Lurk. With this deck list I am making my first foray into giving back to the community with a deck list that is near and dear to my own heart. I present to you Neyith vs The world. This deck plays like a mid range/tempo deck where you are constantly picking fights that will always play out to your benefit. Be it drawing a card from Neyith of the Dire Hunt and underrated gem Season of Growth or even gaining a land from fight specialist Ranging Raptors the goal is to always be on top of the trade. We do this by having value in all of our creatures and being able to produce threat after threat. If we ever find ourselves with no fight spells (which is rare trust me) we can rely on the non fight spells such as Sylvan Library and Valakut Awakening // Valakut Stoneforge. With each new set WOTC slips us a new fight spell which makes the slots for them tight and competitive. I hope you all enjoy.

I started putting some cards aside when I saw Neyith of the Dire Hunt but haven't got around to making a deck yet.

The list I had is below and I had found First Strike and Indestructible creatures for more resilience. There is probably a bunch of double ups from your list but I'm just pasting what I had so far.

Definitely a bit of double up but there are some cards on the list that i can't believe I glossed over. Namely Temur Sabertooth and Hazoret the Fervent . I have Dire Fleet Daredevil in another deck and i am extremely high on it right now so i feel like i would be able to fight a slot for it here as well.

I really like this list, I am loathed to say. As a dedicated Dimir mage, such a statement hurts my soul, but I respect the built-in synergy and card advantage engine you utilize.

Gruul Ragebeast is probably the most obvious exclusion from your current list, since it triggers on any ETB that occurs. Zilortha, Strength Incarnate could be an interesting inclusion so that you can leverage high-power/low-toughness creatures to profitably take advantage of Nerith's power-doubling ability for heavier life-swings, but it doesn't directly add impact to your decklist.

The only defense that I have in not playing Gruul Ragebeast is the fact that its not a may ability. With my others inclusions I try to keep in mind that sometimes there might not be ideal targets for my fights. The power of choice is a strong one in deck. Zilortha, Strength Incarnate however is something that i hadnt considered. I will definitely keep it on my watch list but in my head it will ease blocks after using Neyith's ability.

Deck has been Performing Pretty well over the past months. My current wishes for improvement for the deck is to
1) If I could find a spot for one more land I feel it would be best just to smooth out the games and the deck.
2) Find replacements for Guttural Response , Pyroblast and Tooth and Nail

Both Guttural Response and Pyroblast were added to give me a bit of counter play but they end up being dead cards most of the time. I have given some though to replacing them with card Vexing Shusher but I dont know how well he would fair in the deck. Tooth and Nail is an amazing card in most decks but here my creatures don't have those dominating etb effects this card is known to abuse. I also misread Apex Altisaur thinking it could fight my own creatures and mistakingly thinking that it combo'd with Brash Taunter . Will be looking into some changes and then let you know how they go!

I played Neyith for a while, but never got it to work well in my Meta unfortunately. Thus, I switched to Tovolar for my Combat oriented deck. Nice to see Neyith is a success for others though.
I'd run Tibalt's Trickery in place of Blast / Response. It's such a versatile card and catches people off guard all the time.
Cards that put in some good work for me were Infiltration Lens, One with Nature, Keen Sense and Snake Umbra so I got to draw or ramp from combat no matter if they blocked or didn't.
Also, Instant Speed Fights are a lot better than Sorcery ones. Thus I'd run Ancient Animus, Inscription of Abundance and Duel for Dominance over the Sorceries you have such as Joust and Savage Swipe.
Lastly, Snow Lands would probably be an Upgrade to actually get the max out of your snow sorceries.

Definitely my mistake on the exclusion of snow from my basics but I do have then in the deck. Thank you for pointing that out to me! Tibalt's Trickery is the level of spicy that I aspire for this deck so thank you for the suggestion. It should fit in quite nicely. I don't know how I missed Duel for Dominance but it will be a welcome addition as well as Ancient Animus. These probably can be added in right away!
