Kinda silly to get hanged on about, its just a name unrelated to the virus. Corona is a type of virus, not even the virus's name. I guess they want to better safe than sorry, but i don't think a problem imo.

it would be hilarious dark humor for some, but for people who lost loved ones this might not be humorous at all... so I guess they're doing it to avoid bad publicity.

I lost loved ones to this and i don't mind but i guess others might not respond to it the same as me so yeah might aswell take no chances

I wonder if some of the Death Corona cards actually got released into circulation?

The edited version is arena only, the Death Corona is going to be in the first wave of boxes/collectors packs. Subsequent printings will not have Death Corona or Void Invader

This was definatly a wise decision on the name
Though for a creature typing with void beckoner I think Orga or Hedorah would have Ben a better fit

I personally couldn't care less.
Are normal people getting offended by corona beer existing? Nope.
By the word "corona" getting used at all? Nope.
Are normal people in Italy getting offended by things named corona (crown in italian) or the word corona being used? Nope.
WotC is bending over backwards for a handful of people on reddit or twitter getting "offended" over something completely benign... AGAIN...
What they should have done is: "death corona is the iconic name of this character's attack, deal with it."

I wonder how much each one of these would cost? Heard in another forum that few got printed before the emergency name change.

I can't believe they got this unlucky lol. I completely support their decision to change it and just avoid the controversy from stupid people. Also, it gives people a fun thing to chase and collect.

If I can get one reasonably easily, I'd definitely snap it up. Just to remember this crazy, nightmarish period of human history and my life.
Maybe I'll toss one into Kaervek the Merciless, could always use another source of deathtouch.

Actually, their statement said that the pandemic has had no negative impact on their sales; rather, they've had growth so far in the first quarter. The shut down is wholly due to Mexico's closure of non-essential businesses (see https://www.cnn.com/2020/04/03/business ... index.html).
