This is my take on Grumgully on the cheapest budget I can muster:
Grumgully

COMMANDER: 1

Approximate Total Cost:

Grumgully seems like a great budeget-friendly commander because he rewards just playing generic good gruul stuff, and he can execute some strong combos or even infinite combos alongside Persist cards. Despite looking like a pile of draft chaff, I think this deck would be a great add to a budget arsenal. Did I miss any obvious inclusions for under $1?

Steelbane Hydra, Runaway Steam-Kin, Ulasht, the Hate Seed all seem like they'd be upgrades for your deck.

Ion Storm and Ooze Flux seem funny but maybe not good enough.

Sprout Swarm is likely better than one of your token makers.

Rhythm of the Wild and Cauldron of Souls are both under a buck and seems like they could be solid inclusions.

I love Grumgully. Good, clean, creature-based fun.

Edit: the MTG Nexus price feature shows Cauldron over $2, but the recent Mystery Booster reprint drove it down. Not sure why the price still shows that on Nexus.
