Panoptic Mirror also becomes annoying when you imprint a wrath.
That feels just like, super low on the list of things we need to worry about to me for some reason.

I wouldn't be upset if panoptic got unbanned, but it's also the kind of thing where I can't see it being used for much good, either. I'd be pretty nervous to let it survive until they untap with it, especially if they're in blue.

Sway seems almost strictly worse than worldfire. I guess it's blue. But I'd assume everyone getting full hands is probably bad for you if you've tried to set it up as a win (plains stp is a real possibility that could ruin your wincon) and 7 life is a lot more than 1. Plus it costs 10 instead of 9. It's kinda weird they didn't unban sway first, now that I think about it. I guess they just hate blue?

Not that I have much interest in either card, playing with or against it. Unban gifts you cowards.

Yeah honestly I nothing all these cards for the most part it's just a waste of peoples energy for them to be on the list.

I expect we'll get one every year or two off the list for a while given the example of worldfire doing absolutely nothing.

The only thing these cards do is give people ammo to undercut the rc. It paints them as ridiculously out of touch. There's a reddit thread like every month where they just get eviscerated over coalition victory in particular.

The reasoning was, iirc, that worldfire puts opponents out of their misery quicker.

It's really interesting to me how fast the euthanasia argument caught on after Paradox Engine got banned :P All that time watching people storm off with it must have scarred some people (me included, although I was still raw from all the wasted hours playing with Prophet of Kruphix Timelords).

Sway can often just be a Shahrazad, where a losing player resets everything, and then everyone spends the next half an hour plinking each other to death with whatever utility dorks they topdecked. If you Worldfire, the game ends soon after.

World fire would be a terrible experience if anyone randomly fired in off. I agree that it's saving grace is actually it's ability to be an effective combo piece (if inefficient), so if someone is running world fire theyre running it to win the game off casting their commander with floating mana, or a suspended creature, or something coming back from under an enchantment, or a phased out critter, etc. Sway is more likely to be used as a miserable reset button.
