First there was a war of Planewalkers, now a war of Gods. What will cause a war next?
edit: what are the other gods doing during this war? Seems like the big 5 + Klothys

You know the lore is telling me that "intervention" cycle might be a thing but will see

Anyway I see a strictly better Withered Wretch

Boosting toughness feels more white than black. Thank gods it has that second ability, otherwise it would be an underwhelming black ox.

I'm not sure about that. Only needing to hold up 1 mana to represent GY hate matters and Tymaret requiring black mana is a significant downside outside of mono-B. Tymaret has definite upsides but I'm still likely to go for Wretch due to it being more efficient GY hate, at least when it comes to EDH.

Ooooh, I like it. I try to jam Withered Wretch in all of my black EDH decks, but it usually ends up getting cut - it's hard to justify running in exclusively for grave hate when you can run Bojuka Bog and Nihil Spellbomb at lower opportunity costs. Giving a bit of extra toughness and adding some incidental lifegain sounds pretty good. You do lose Zombie tribal synergies, and holding open two mana instead of one is a significant cost, but seems worth it if you're using Necropotence, Dawn of Hope, Heliod, Sun-Crowned, or any other way to benefit from lifegain.

....still outclassed by Scavenging Ooze though.
