Walls still exist as a creature type, but the part 'Walls cannot attack' was replaced with Defender

Wow, the "tap it" part seems very gratuitous. You can attack and eat food after declaring attackers. You can block and eat food afterward. It's only relevant if your opponent tries to kill it with direct damage before you attack or block. I really wonder why it was over-powered without that line. It's as if they wanted to reproduce regenerate.

yeah but I thought they stopped using the term walls, since they invented the defender mechanic, although I just saw that new trebuchet card.

wall of runes was printed in war of the spark, 2 sets ago, so indeed, they still print walls.

Pretty sure that is what they're trying to do. See also
Drudge Sentinel and
Underrealm Lich. I think they're want to give it some counterplay like Regenerate had without all the rules nonsense that went along with Regenerate.
