K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth

Any lore on this guy? I don't remember Yawgmoth ever procreating in the normal human way. Maybe Son is more of a title?

Yes, Son is a title he gave himself. Formerly named Kerrick. Just watched a video about K'rrik on Magic Historian last night.

Kerrick/K'rrik was from Time Streams; he was trapped in a fast-time bubble and used Urza's falcon engines against Urza, nearly scrambling Urza's concentration and killing him.

Gelcur, based on your title, you are the same from MtGNews, yes? If so, good to see you again!

On the same note, did you just left out one letter from your name, Zaz? Greek Alliance gathering again on a new ground?

It is I, the rumors of my demise were extremely exaggerated.

Ever since MTGNews went away I sort of fell out of Magic. I tried getting back into the swing of things a year or so back but the Twitch integration with MTGSalvation really didn't play well with my browser settings. Kept logging me out, posts wouldn't always go through, quotes and PMs not working. Likely my anti-cookie, anti-tracking was jumbling everything up. But seems MTGNexus is working fine for me so far.

Seems like my memory is slowly rotting away though. As soon as I saw the title "Time Streams" it all came flooding back to me. Such a long time since I've talked old lore. And the new stuff post de-powering planeswalkers has just never really rung true to me. Honestly I had really hoped Nicol Bolas was going to win and wipe out these new demi-walkers ushering in an age of old planeswalkers again.

Greek Alliance also brings back memories but sadly no Clans here. If you expand my sig I pay my respects there, sadly I can't figure out how to place it in the middle of the 4 cards.

He tried to destroy Urza's academy on Tolaria, but was trapped in a time bubble, and built his own empire with new Phyrexians inside. Then, when he got back in the normal flow of time, well... (I have no idea who that is. It's not Barrin, I know that.)

(By the way, love the power creep from Subversion to Palace Siege.)

Gelcur: Glad to see you're back. I've gone in and out of the story. I'm no expert at it, but I've got a decent grasp of the new lore. It's fun in its own way. It's a different type of story than pre-Apocalyse, but once you take it for what it is, it's enjoyable.

Caranthir: It is me, and it is totally a typo! I just messaged the boards to look into adding the other "z" back in!

What a fun reunion!

It really is.

All this old time talk has got me thinking about the old novels. I know Urza often gets a bad rap but I personally found telling stories about god-like beings interesting. Having to find interesting ways of challenging them, take Urza his time experiments, his own failure coming back to haunt him.

Almost makes me want to write some fan fiction, I always thought Taysir was underused and had a great amount of potential. Garth One-Eye was another one I loved, he returned home with his wife and son to their vineyard, never to be heard from again.

Perhaps we should start a new thread? I always loved Taysir as well. I really have been itching to write some fan fiction (I really wanted to re-do some scenes from the return to Dominaria--I have some ideas on how best to revive Teferi's spark) and I also have some New Phyrexia and Karn ideas in mind... though I guess there is a forum for fan fiction.

As far as K'rrik, I do think it's fun to have these flashbacks of characters since the revisionist stories had so much (full novels!) to them.

Probably my favourite Phyrexian agent. Was definitly one of the most devasting, to a ponit that forced Karn to go back in time to save everyone.
