I was so excited to talk about this card until I realized I had confused it with Elvish Piper.

@void_nothing

he's carrying a musical instrument. I could mistake it for an elvish lyrist if first time seeing the card, and not looked at the name.

_______________

Kher Keep

this card is hilarious. Hoping for a reprint, so can use it in pioneer as well.

amazing card for ug madness and ug thresh decks years ago.

I use breakthrough to easily put it into the yard.

Underrated at the casual table because you'll see plenty of spellslinger decks. If you can protect it, it's a bad time for opps.

Since I can't afford fetches and shocks for 64 casual decks, check lands are my choice for mana fixing.

probably made easy to kill, because trigerred damage from this thing can quickly add up. Two of them on the field means a shock for every nonblack card played.

64???... wow, so many. :omg:

using the same color sleeves, so I only "move" fetches and shocks between decks. Do not use them at the same time anyway. Some of my decks also borrow sideboards from each other.. anger of the gods and leyline of the void are shared cards among them.

I love them :3 an I used to think the twinclaws were so efficient. They are really good with Scourge of the Nobilis, and they get incredible benefit from things like Ranger's Guile. Strictly a low-powered card with no protection or legacy effect of its own, but I'm happy with my playset and have definitely Muscle Bursted them up to being 8/10 double-strikers before!

I guess it has two relevant types for tribal decks but my lord the idea of playing a 4 mana beater that isn't Hero of Bladehold is really rough for me :) Even that's a stretch these days when they're printing guys like Elder Gargaroth.

@RabidVacin

so that's why you disappeared. Welcome back.
__________

Twinclaws is a decent card, but not really the 4 drop that would use on my cat deck. Leonin Warleader is better, and produce tokens to improve board state.

4th edition was so cool and weird looking back on it all. This, Stasis, Magnetic Mountain, Meekstone along with multiple walls with 5 toughness or higher were all positioned to defend players against... a lot of vanilla creatures? Juggernaut didn't even make it into the set; the main stuff you worried about was Hypnotic Specter and Serra Angel, and Smoke only fights one of those cards properly. So it's amusing to me to think that all these defensive measures were considered necessary back then, but not any longer in the era of Robber of the Rich :3

I played the hell out of Smoke in Shandalar all the same; I got really interested in using all the weird slow artifacts and found that having Smoke in play gave you lots of extra turns to fiddle with them. Maybe the playtesters were thinking the same thing as me.

Smoke was a sideboard consideration when I was playing Sneak & Breach in Legacy.
