I want to play Elden Ring so bad, but i don't have a device with adequate specs nor the finances to procure one.

I played bloodborne and dark souls as two of my first video games ever and they have shaped a lot of my interests in video games.
FWIW the stated requirements are way too high. My PC doesn't mean the gfx requirements and it runs it perfectly fine. Maybe look around, there are videos of people running it with various gfx cards etc so you might be able to get an idea of how it will run for your setup.

Nah, I'm working with a potato atm, can't play any triple A games.

Which is fine for the most part, indie games are where most of my interest lies, but there are a few that i miss.

One of these days…

I was today years old when I realised that the reason there are so many mono-colored legends with hybrid activated abilities in jump start is so they can fit them into typically-mono-colored jumpstart packs while still appealing to mono-color-averse commander players.

As a person who never got the appeal of twitter, I have to say the fact that the ship is sinking and on fire makes it infinitely more appealing than whatever it was before. But then again, what can I say, I love collapse watching.
I never got into Twitter, either. And I also enjoyed watching the January 6th events and other peaceful protests. But Elon could have avoided all this if he'd have just let Alex Jones back on the platform.
While I suspect this post is actually meant sarcastically, no attempt was made to clear that up within this post. Warning issued for Trolling. - benjameenbear

No thanks, I can smell obvious bait.

I miss when conversations were just conversations, and not an opportunity to anger your political opposition.

You know, it's a small thing, but I was really turned off by the multiple copies of every character we got this set. I get that it's supposed to be these characters at various times through their lives, but as someone that has never cared about lore, it feels very homogenous and the different cards don't even feel that unique. "This is Urza, he cares about artifacts, and this is Urza but with a different subtitle, he... cares about artifacts".

Compare that to something like Omnath, Locus of ManaOmnath, Locus of RageOmnath, Locus of the RoilOmnath, Locus of Creation. Again, I don't bother keeping up with lore, but even without understanding the lore, these cards all feel unique and even without following the lore, they till manage to tell a story. It also helps that these cards had multiple sets of breathing room for me to become aquainted with the card before the next iteration was introduced.

Don't get me wrong, I have plenty of legitimate gripes with recent WOTC printings and this is not one of them. But it still feels lazy to me.

Man, turning creatures into goblins and killing them with Tivadar of Thorn never gets old. I just turned Okaun, Eye of Chaos using Ardenn, Intrepid Archaeologist+Runed Stalactite and killed him 3-4 turns in a row.

I finally finished the initial, 35-pack base of my Jumpstart cube. I haven't updated the OP of the thread, but plan to do so soon. It needs a few tweaks, especially to help some themes curve out, but I'm really proud of it. I may even list it on Moxfield or CubeCobra.

EDIT: oh yeah, and I'm participating in a chili cook-off at my daughter's school tomorrow. I don't normally, you know, participate in these kinds of things. I've tuned my recipe pretty well. In magic-speak, it's just below cEDH levels without being oppressive.

I kind of want to try whatever oppressive chili would be now.

Anyway our MTG group got together for the first time in months and drafted Dominaria tonight. It's easy to forget that this is a fun game when all you do is read about it on the internet. Not to downplay all the genuinely bad stuff that Wizards has done in recent years, but Magic at it's core is still a lot of fun with pals.

I've been pretty much exclusively playing EDH with my high school buds. We have a very low power meta and keep it that way. It's so very nice.

We have a pretty ideal group also - there's about 10 of us and 4 to 6 show up most weeks. But lately things have gotten in the way a lot so gaming has been cancelled for a couple months. It's always good to get back into it.

I've only got a group of 4 but we've been slinging for over a decade together. I just played a game with my Tivadar of Thorn deck that I've had for years (the previously mentioned game). Anyway I showed my opponent Armored Ascension and he was like "oh yeah, that's been in there since the decks creation hasn't it?" So we've seen each others decks a faaaaaair bit. My decks tend to not fluctuate a whole lot.

Lmao, I told a friend I keep my deckliste mostly updated here a couple weeks ago. Yesterday we played and she seemed… awkward so I asked if something was wrong. Turn out there is a adult content creator with the same name but nexusmtg instead of mtgnexus and she tought I was sending her towards adult content I'm dead

the correct ending that your story:

"And now I'm leaving the country and changing my name"

Can't wait to see a synopsis of the Wizards fireside chat. I know it will just be corporate rally the troops nonsense but I love a good dumpster fire.

I've gone into super lurker mode around here lately, and I've realised why: my MtG experience is fundamentally different to a lot of posters, and I just can't relate.

Pace of releases: I've played GW games for 20-odd years, they bring something new out every week, I already have the mindset of 'not for me, move on' ready to deploy.
Unstable playgroups/limited games: I've played with the same people for years, my LGS has a stable population of about 20-30 commander players of all skill levels and style of deck, barring full on cEDH. I play 2-3 games a week and manage to get in several games with all of my decks between sets.
Universes Beyond: I just don't care either way. Some are cool, some are baffling (I have no idea how they're gonna do Dr Who) and at the end of the day, they're all just text boxes. Every other card game has to put so much effort into not being just MtG, they might as well just have a Universes Beyond of the big IP's and save on dev costs.

However, I have now built my sixth and likely final deck, and since the decklists forum doesn't get all that much traffic, I figured I'd drop a link in here - viewtopic.php?t=68438. It's Abaddon the Despoiler, uniting my two main gaming loves, although its definitely aiming to be an MtG deck first and a Chaos Marine themed deck a distant second.
