Before Ephemerate, this was tied for mana efficience with Cloudshift. I rather prefer Momentary Blink, however.

Well the Ravnica3 Gate payoffs were overall considerably better than the Ravnica2 ones, imho, but presumably you'd play a Maze's End combo or Gatebreaker Ram.
