(I couldn't resist) Admitting you have a problem is the first step
I mean, you're not really wrong, tbqh. My obsessive need to both optimize and optimize other player's decks can be overbearing and offputting for many around the card table and the internet as a whole. Being a sort of virtual card encyclopedia has it's drawbacks as much as it's merits. Maybe a smidge more.

in my group everyone knows the cards better than I do and whenever I go "What?" it's followed by "it's a weaker or stronger version of x" and I just sit there go umm okay....;p;

About 30min away. I bought a townhouse. Kinda near where WF used to live. We discussed this before. I was trying to see if things would be done in time to host ECMMU possibly. (spoiler: they're not. Though, tbf, I'm taking my time).

I've been moving like 6-10 boxes at a time every time I go over there. It's the most casual move ever. Today I moved over my art supplies, some Nerf stuff, and my 3d printers. And I started assembling some dining room chairs.

Contractors who are doing my floors didn't have enough wood to finish, but hopefully they'll get the shipment this coming week and wrap that up. Now I'm trying to figure out repainting a significant portion of the house.
Relaxed moves are definitely the way to go if you can get away with it. The entire process is bad enough without adding a time crunch to it.

Yeah. Considering how long it's taken me to put stuff into boxes, all the random stuff I've been finding, and the huge mess of half packed boxes... I can't even on trying to get this done in a few days type of situation.

My last move, we spent the month leading up to it doing work on the new place (replaced the floors, took popcorn off the ceilings, and painted), so we didn't really organize or pack much before the day of. We finished moving everything around 4:30 AM the day we had to be out of the apartment and didn't have a chance to clean at all. Terrible experience all around. The way you're doing it is definitely better.

Judging by my experience: Counter picking against a single deck/archetype isn't worth it in EDH.
It's only when your disruption hoses several archetypes (e.g. Leyline of the Void) that it starts making sense to get included. Even then it still depends on the rest of the deck, especially availability of card slots can be a problem.
Of course there's where synergy falls in line and it's all good. Righteous Aura|VIS is utterly disgusting in my Kambal, Consul of Allocation build and would be problematic for x-spell slinging r decks.

This kind of hate is only viable vs U because U is the one deck that's highly anticipated at a given table. And, fyi? Those REBs are always live AF. :smirk:

That's good because Kambal would otherwise suffer against spell slinging r decks.

On color hate, I'm tempted to run Reap and Compost on a regular basis. Black is common enough that they're probably not going to be dead, upside to each is high, and both are boons to you instead of hindering other players, which is a common problem with targeted color hate in lower-powered metas.

Tbh, this is more props to Righteous Aura than the whole being a "hate card" because it is pretty awesome on it's own and doesn't even target. Nullifies commander damage too. It's almost a more versatile Forcefield because it stops more than creatures, but it forces you into a colour.

Shame it still can't stop a Torment of Hailfire though.

I wouldn't pack my deck full of color hoses, but if Red Elemental Blast sits dead in my hand I consider it a good game since I'm not worried about a blue player holding a fist full of counters.

The moment you nail an Expropriate with it will justify every single time you sat on it without a target. Easily the most satisfying feel you can experience.

Off topic question for off-topic, can we reserve the first reply post in deck threads or no? (So you post the deck in the OP, then reserve post #2 for stuff).

Probably not right forum, sorry. Just wondering real quick as I start posting my decks.

You can just make a reply post immediately with the text "Reserved" (or whatever) and then modify it later when you want to.

I was asking in the vein of it being allowed by the rules, rather than technical BB code and such. I should have made that clear, my bad.

My mistake. I don't believe there is anything against it, especially in a decklist thread. I have seen it used often with Spoiler threads and I would expect that to continue here. In any case, I haven't seen any rules against it, but I admit I could have missed it.

How do I add the PRIMER tag to my original Kaalia thread? It doesn't seem to come up in the preset tags.

That tag is only available to members of the Primer Committee. Request it through them (I only have the tag so I can add it to threads) and they'll pass along the request to ben or myself.

I'm guessing he's referring to the Anglo-Swiss symphonic power metal band

EDIT: I think we killed sally's commander section...

Honestly, this was kind of expected.

There's still some life, and there will be as long as Sally is still the top, or near top google search result for Commander forums, but I expect everything to get absorbed over into here as time goes on.

@mtgsally was the place to be, but geez was it not without it's own flaws. The spaghetti code shovelled on top of itself like MODO development, the numerous bug issues and errors and then the "features" that didn't actually do anything. It was a hot mess.

Meanwhile this site here looks so fresh and well polished.
